Thank you all for your answers. Validated exchange chilean pesos v. USD, indeed the symbol used is confusing. However, once converted the rates for most things here indicates that Chile is relatively cheap.

I have to say that the prices on a couple of sites seem high. Many of the chicas hawk their wares on several sites and their prices are often different, depending on site.
