No, I have never used an escort in BKK, and I have always assumed they're scams. But your question got me thinking.

I'm trying to think about the business model for a service like that in a market like BKK. The conventional wisdom would be that there's so much action in so many venues that you would have to focus on guys who are so inexperienced and afraid to venture out that they're not a viable sustainable market. There's no real repeat visiting business because anyone doing that much purchasing is going to become a better consumer and not use you. There's no real indigenous market because the action is so available and open that your service isn't required.

So that leads me to believe they would focus on scamming them out of money. Which is what we've all assumed (and heard anecdotally). So that leads us back to where we started.

But then I wondered if there's a market out there that we're not considering, and that we don't see openly; is there a market in BKK for high end girls for customers who can afford them, but can't venture into the usual places socially or comfortably? There are a lot of affluent businessmen who travel to BKK and who would be interested in tasting the local delicacies, but aren't regular consumers (mongers). That market would be demanding, and you wouldn't be ripping them off. They'd be good customers. The issue is whether there's enough of them out there to sustain a legitimate provider. Whether there's someone serving them.

And how to differentiate this provider from the rip off escort companies.

There are a lot of businessmen who are used to using escort agencies in their home towns and wherever they travel. They would probably be more comfortable using one in BKK too, and those guys wouldn't be comfortable in Patpong or Nana. Looking for escorts, while ridiculous on the surface, is not actually as ridiculous as it seems. There are several reasons why. Many of which you brought up. My responses to your points, which address why Escort services are still out there in BKK. As I mentioned .. I used an agency just once when I arrived at a very late hour due to a flight delay and was dead tired. Of course, I could not pass on getting laid in BKK on my first night, so I made the phone call and showered/ate before the escort arrived. I had a nice experience with a college student (Or so she says).

In terms of what the makes up the Escort agency market, I don't think it's entirely newbies. Yes, there are those newbies that are afraid to venture out, but I don't believe they are the Escort Agencies core business. I stumbled upon the website and it got me thinking of high end agencies. I think the website I mentioned is more bait and switch, but I am hopeful for a high end option. Point one .. Conventional wisdom says. The last time I checked, the world is full of average Joe's. The reason .. they play it safe and stick to conventional wisdom. The internet, 24 hour news and sports channels, flying to the moon, jets, etc. are all based on defying conventional wisdom.

Point two .. Scammers. Yes, there are scammers out there, but they exist everywhere. That's why we do our homework.

Point three .. Is there a market for high end girls? Absolutely. I rarely ever make my choices in BKK based on price. Sometimes I like good value and other times I don't mind breaking the bank on quality. There are many others like that. Paying $250 to $1,000 is routine in Japan. I don't think they break a sweat spending 6,000 baht. There's an escort service in Montreal that specializes in model quality escorts at $500-$600 for a 2 hour session. I'm sure there are many high end clubs in BKK, that most are not aware of, which exist solely to cater to high rollers.

Point four .. Agreed. I'm more than willing to pay for quality, if the girl is a true stunner with a great skill set.

There are many individuals who also cannot afford or would be uncomfortable visiting the many open play ground areas like Nana Plaza. Some live and work in BKK and only visit Soapies or hire escorts. Some are on business trips and lack the time, energy, or must keep a low profile. Others are with significant others and get a separate room and hire an escort.

There are many reasons, and that's why they exist. I'm just asking about one specific Agency, since there are two girls pictured, and would pay 6,000 baht if the pics are accurate.

I agree to disagree. Conventional wisdom is to use escort agencies in SOME parts of the world, but not in BKK and as you mentioned in the rest of Asia. Going to Nana Plaza, Patpong, Soi Cowboy and the large Soapies is conventional wisdom in BKK. Going to AMP's (Asian Massage Parlors) is conventional wisdom in Hawaii. Escorts are not conventional wisdom in South America or Germany. The list can go on and on.

My point is that conventional wisdom is not always necessarily right and there are times when you need to go past conventional wisdom for truely great experiences. Why limit yourself to conventional wisdom?

I don't disagree that most escort agencies are of average to poor quality. You can see that by their websites. That does not mean that one does not exist that may be of very high quality.
