Cebu vs. Bohol
A couple of quick questions for those of you who have a lot more experience in the Philippines than I do.
My GF (from a November trip) and I are planning a 6 day rendezvous in March. I have business in both Manila and Cebu, so we will spend time in both locations. While trying to determine whether to stay in Cebu City or on the island (Mactan), she tossed out another possibility. She has a friend on Bohol...and we could spend some time there.
I need advice. I like the possibility of spending time with her friend in a nice setting, but is a ferry trip to Bohol worth our time and money? Should we just stay in Cebu City and take a taxi to the beach on Mactan during the day?
We both want to participate in the bar scene and enjoy some take out (yeah, I got it made with her!), so is that even available on Bohol?
Thanks in advance!

Gern, Fly into Cebu and go to her place, it's just a short ferry ride over to Bohol from there. You can fly into Tagbularan Bohol as well. I like going into Cebu then going back to Cebu with a few days there before leaving, just tell them something came up your going back to Cebu and catch a plane right out, no need to go with you back to Cebu. Then get a room at the Marriott and enjoy the place. Cebu can be your clutch if things don't go so well in Bohol. Lots of things to see in Bohol. Just be ready, life there for your girls family could be very basic and you will become the focal point of the barangay while you are there.
Enjoy your time there.

Where is the friend in Bohol?
Alona beach is on Panglao island and is well worth the 90min ferry + 20 min taxi ride. See my recent post on the "other areas" thread.
I think it's unlikely that you could quickly find someone for a threesome. You might be better off finding a gal in Cebu and taking her with you. X
Once arriving at the airport there were two options with taxis I could take, one being the 395 peso prepaid taxi or the metered taxi. I have used them both different occasions and both times they were to crown regency tower by mango square and the metered taxi ended up 380 pesos. Next time I think I will take the prepaid one.
My thoughts on the meter taxi vs. all-inclusive taxi option, it depends on what time my flight lands in Cebu and what taxis are available. If I land after 3pm, around noon or early in the morning I take the metered taxi if one is available as traffic jams are very common. When I get outside I look to see the condition of the metered taxi that is waiting, if its a crap-box held together with wire and most likely no working AC, I take the metered taxi. There is nothing worse than sitting in traffic in a taxi with no AC to save a dollar or two. If the metered taxi looks ok I will take it and ask the driver to use the old bridge. I have paid as little as 180P in a metered taxi when conditions and traffic are perfect, but I would advise anyone visiting Cebu for the first time to take the all-inclusive option as most of the time it works out to about the same.
The Crown Regency hotel tower is pretty impressive, paid 3600 peso per night in Jan but after I came back from boracay they were charging for the same room for 5000 peso per night! I asked why and the reply was that feb was high season! I thought it was bullshit but didn't want to make a scene!
Great hotel though with great workout gym and reasonable food but be careful bringing girl sometimes! Out of the 6 nights I stayed there had girls come back with 5 times but few times they were making me pay. When I had two girls with I ended up paying but one other time trying to make me pay for just one girl, I put up a fight and they gave up and let me go!
No offense, but you made some rookie mistakes when you booked. First I never pay the walk-in rate. I remember looking at the walk in rate on some flyers at the front desk and it was $120-$150US per night. I laugh every time I see it.
I think the only reason you might have been asked to pay the 5000P rate was due to Sinulog, but I am not sure as you did not provide your dates.
I stayed at the Crown Regency Fuente Osmena for 10 weeks in 2009, and I will stay there again this year for atleast 8 more weeks. Book the hotel online on any number of websites and you can save alot of money. The current online price is around 65US, and that includes a free buffet breakfast. When you book make sure to book the room for two people, and ask the girls at the front desk to give you the breakfast coupons for two, that way you and your girl can eat for free at no extra cost.
The hotel has a policy that all guests after 10pm must sign in. The front desk, bellboys and security all know the deal, and they also figure out real fast if you are there for fun and who your regular girlfriend is. They can also spot a bar girl on your arm and they will just ask her to sign in. Its no hassle if you booked the room online for two, and its more for your security than anything else. I know all the staff by now and they all know me and my regular GF so I never sign her in, but if I walk in with a bargirl after 10pm they will make her sign. I have brought more than one girl to my room at a time, but that was before 10pm with no sign-in or request for joiner fees.
The buffet restaraunt on the 37th floor is a bit of a rip-off, but the view is amazing and the food so-so. The only time I got sick in the Philippines was back in October 2009 after eatting there the night before, so take warning if you want to eat here and have a flight the next day. I am also pretty sure that some of the leftovers from this buffet are used for the morning breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor Glo Cafe. This is also a very poular place for some of the Korean guests to eat and accordingly fish dishes are plentiful.
So now to ladies, checked out mango square first night just down the road, lots of locals there enjoying themselves, place seemed to get busy after 10. 30pm.
Had few beers upstairs bar till 11 pm just checking the crowd then entered Juliana, (must wear shoes to get in I was told) drank and danced till 2 am
I saw some Imported guy with no shoes on try to get into Juliana one night, and he had a childish temper tantrum when the bouncer refused him entry, just a sad sight. The local girl he was with just walked away and left him standing at the door as he tried to argue his way inside.
Next night before going to casino again checked Silver Moon or something which is next to the hotel. Place was small but pretty chilled out environment.
Silver Dollar Bar not Silver Moon.

Why take the old bridge?

Why take the old bridge?
X Man,
The traffic getting on the old bridge is not bad at off peak hours, just a quick merge. When I take that route I usually avoid the slow traffic light on the Cebu City side of the bridge that backs everyone up on the span and the very slow traffic prone areas from the new bridge to SM mall. An ex-girlfriend that lives in Lapu-Lapu first told me to take the old bridge. I objected but she proved me wrong. This route only works at off peak traffic hours, and I usually double-check the flow of traffic for myself on both bridges as my PAL flight from Manila circles Mactan.

Short time in Cebu
Since this site is supposed to be a sex guide, let me ask once again. Anyone on this board have any suggestions for short time in the Fuente Osmenia area of Cebu. Anyone care to suggest what the going rate is?

Bohol Or Not To Bohol

If you have the chance to visit Bohol, I would highly recommend it especially if you know someone there. But Bohol is much more conservative and laid back than Cebu. There are a few bikini bars in Tagbilaran but nothing like Cebu city or Mactan for that matter. There is some nightlife on Panglao island but just your regular bar or kareoke.
But if you are feeling lazy and only have a few days, might as well stay on Mactan. Plenty of good resorts, restaurants, shopping and a few decent bikini bars!

more specific

it would be useful if you could be more specific. Eg what type of girl you are interested in a eg a bar girl or a semi pro what age what time when will you be in cebu. Personally i am not interested in the ba scene which i think is often overpriced in Cebu. You can gte a good semi pro for about 500P fr a few hours plus taxi fare

I too think the Mango St bar scene is overpriced. And yes, you can find FLs who will take 500p for ST plus taxi. But negotiate the price first, otherwise they'll often ask for 1000p when they're in the room. If one won't take 500p, you can move on which is a tad harder to do when she's in your room making a scene.

I agree, negotiate everything up front with the girl when you are still on the street and make sure she understands exactly what you want or there might be a request for more money when she gets in the room. It's an easy thing to walk away from her if an agreement can't be worked out or you get a bad vibe.
The bikini bars on Mango are overpriced IMHO, but they cater to guys too lazy to pick one of the thousands of available girls online, guys with no game, guys with limited time in Cebu or guys who just want a pro without the hassle of a regular GF.
I was in Hot Rod almost a year ago when it was freshly re-opened, and the new mamasan quoted me the price of around 2250P, I almost fell off the leather sofa in tears laughing at her. The other "Tom Cruise" manager (nicknamed by another ISG member) came over to see what was the problem, and I laughed even harder when he looked shocked that I found the price expensive. I asked why so high and she told me it includes 3 ladies drinks and some other garbage about how it was a competitive price. I did not even bother to ask if it was an all-in price, I just drank my SML admired some of the scenery and left.

The old bridge will win every time if you dont have to wait 30 minutes to move in traffic. The reason it wins....it opens to two lanes when you cross, where as the new bridge is 2 lanes all the way to the first light, so you have double traffic trying to get through:(

I agree, it is so much easier to pay them to leave, then deal with the drama.

Or you could do better by choosing neither of the above.
Most of the time you could just negotiate with the driver to get you into Cebu and your hotel for anywhere from 200-250p. (they don't have to turn on the meter if they don't want to). That's how I often do it.

Money Exchange
I will be arriving in Cebu at about 12:30 am. Is there a money exchange open in the airport at that hour? If not can I get a prepaid taxi with USD? Or can I get peso's with a bank card from an ATM?
