Son, I could care less what she did with the 500 pesos/$14 dollars I gave her to take a cab from POP to Cabarete, knowing full well that a local is going to get a better rate than a tourist.
Trust me when I tell you that I am not going to fret over $14 dollars or what she chose to do with the $14 dollars.

There are still girls that WANT to work for 1000Pesos at least during the day. I had to argue for a full minute with the first one but was able to convince her it was a fair price. Then I used her as a baseline to fix a price with the other girls.
I just got back a month ago and it was the NG girls that hang around the pool being the ones taking my 1k. However the girls in the disco at night were different. I could not get them to bite for 1k. 1500 seemed to be the minimum for night time.
They key is, if they are hanging around the hotel they are looking to work and will work with you on the price. On the other hand, if you find a girl around town, she sees it as an unplanned possible lotto ticket hook-up and will give you a price on the high end.
Stick to your guns boys... else it will wont get any better.

Now I see where all of this stems from! It is clear to me that price is of great concern to you.
You are one of those guys that pays a woman and then tells her how to spend what you just paid her. You're the guy that flits from store to store hunting for the better bargain, when you could have just as well bought everything in one place and saved yourself time and gas.

I would imagine that many dominican chicas can probably survive on 200 dollars per month, many live at home, some probably pay very little rent. 3 large platanos probably cost a dollar or less. Rice is cheap. Maybe some chicas think they can hold out for the big payday.
On the other hand if you are a monger visiting the dom rep, after paying for airfare, taxis and hotels, taking time off from work, you want to get laid. I can see paying an extra 20-30 dollars so that you are not shutout. If Sosua gets a reputation as a high price destination, then less guys will go there and I would guess the chicas would have to lower their demands to get the mongers back.
