Hey this is my first time on the forum and in Shanghai. I am shy to go to bar or the massage place so I'm wondering what you guys think about the craigslist outcall? There seem to be a ton of advertisements offering oil massage for 300rmb. Is the oil massage what I think it is? Ha.

And I am wondering how safe it is to get a girl from craigslist, don't want police showing up on my door or a girl who is much worse looking than her photo! Thanks. Will write report about my experience with it if I do it.

The CL ads are real, but the girl who shows up will almost certainly be a different girl from the photo, probably ugly or at least disappointing in some way, and she'll overcharge you. She knows you don't know what you're doing since you used CL. I've heard of people getting stuff stolen, too. If you're ok with that, then contact them.

I got to say though, I really think you'll be ok if you visit the Manhattan bar. It's not really a "bar" in the sense of how a bar is in the USA or wherever you're from. It's more like a big room stuffed with girls who are going to walk right up to you. You don't have to worry about being shy because the girls want you to take them home and they will drive the conversation there no matter what you say to them.

I usually pay 7 or 8. As a shy guy, you'll need to be ready to hear them say something retarded like 1500 or 2000. Ignore how cute the girl is, just smile and say 700. If you go on a weekend you probably won't get 700, but anything under 1000 is fair in my opinion.

OK, I was certain I could find a way to make this into a little gold mine, or at least pay some small dividends. I was sorely mistaken.

Over the past couple months I've tried out about 10 numbers from CG. I intentionally went for the ones that I thought were most likely to have real pictures (I. E. Not those obvious fake ones, ad said "100% really photo", etc.) , or in a few cases I just abandoned the idea that the girl would be the one in the photo and went for quality massage, service, etc.

Here are the results:

Number of photos that were real: ZERO.

Number of girls that said their photos were really, really, really real, even after questioning on phone: ALL OF THEM.

Number of girls that up-sold: ALL OF THEM.

Average price quoted on CG: 200 to 300 RMB.

Average starting asking price: 2000 (some even quoted prices for "happy" or "happy ending" online at 500 but immediately went up to 1500-2000 once in bed)

Average landing price: 1000 to 1500, and two girls left with nothing when I tried to bargain to 800.

Average quality of massage (1 to 10) : 1 (only because I didn't include zero as an option here)

Average quality of sex (1 to 10) : 5 or 6. A few did ok, none rocked my world.

Average looks for the girls: Surprisingly not bad in this category, but not nearly as good as the pictures, even the "natural looking" pictures.

Average punctuality: 30 min to 1 hour later than promised, and unbelievably three NO SHOWS (they messaged hours later saying they had been busy and could they come immediately now, but I never replied).

There seem to be a few adds on there for no up-selling (500, 700, and 800 prices listed right on the subject lines) , which are the three I didn't try since there's no way those photos are real. I should have though. Maybe I will sometime, but I'm so burned out on CG that I've had it for the time being. Anyone who has feel free to inform us.

Conclusion. Avoid CG like the plague and leave it to the business travelers who don't know any better or don't care.

Just another reminder for newbies who don't RTFF.

Generally 2 types of touts.

Touts at Nanjing Road / Bund are tea scam touts. They will take you to an overpriced tea house or bar where you will be charges hundreds if not thousands.

KTV touts. Promising cheap sex.

They will take you to KTV and rob you.

If you don't feel like navigating the crowd at Manhattan, try something like 999. It's pretty much a point and choose and go along for the amazing ride. No "hassle or haggle" required.

[/QUOTE]There is a BBS I went to last year. Walk west on Hongqiao Road, turn left onto Xuhong North Road, you will see the ladies thru the window of the BBS on the west side of the street. I went there at night and it was raining so I had my pick of about 8 girls. Most are a 5 or 6, but you may find an 8 or 9. None spoke English. Usual prices.

You can also hit the Yuanzhun Sauna in Xujiahui. At the intersection of Xietu and Nandan road on the 3rd floor. You can google the address. Just under 700 RMB.

Tips aren't even allowed in many sauna establishments. (You leave your wallet in the locker, and only pay at the cashier. So you won't be able to tip the lady even if you wanted to. Not unless you are willing to take her out afterwards.)

But if someone is looking for GFE or ONS, saunas like 999 aren't really the places to go. If you don't speak Chinese or Japanese, chances are you won't get a meaningful conversation with the lady. (Some of the ladies at 999 do speak fluent Japanese and / or Korean, but so far I have not met anyone who speaks decent English.) Even if you are a repeat customer, there are still routines that need to be followed. Then there is the time pressure problem, some people don't perform well when they can sense a clock is running, and some ladies will constantly remind the customer of the clock.

While I've passed through Shanghai a number of times, I've never spent time here. After reading the various reports I made up my list of establishments to visit on this trip. I even booked my stay at the Riverview Hotel.

This afternoon I went down to the 3rd Floor to pay a visit to the spa. Having RTFF, I knew that Tony was the guy to speak to. He was there and I mentioned that I had heard of him. He asked if it was from a friend and I told him that I had read about him on the internet. He was surprised – and I was surprised that he didn't know about ISG!

I had decided to spring for the 'knight' level of service with one of the hot girls in English racing duds. However, Tony never mentioned service levels or price.

After showering I was lead to a room and Tony came in to ask if I was ready. I told him I was and he walked me to the room where three girls were waiting in line. They did that goofy song and dance that Chinese saunas are known for. One was an 8 and had long hair. The other two were 7's. I picked one of the 7's who had a flirty nature – I decided to go with my gut rather than opt for the hotter one. Tony cut me loose there – still nothing about quality levels or price.

Once the girl had stripped, I noticed she was chunkier than I normally like – too much KFC. She did a fair strip tease interspersed with fake moaning whenever she touched herself.

If you want to know why, take a look at the Beijing forum, which is now being inundated with touts that register and then post BS reports about girls at their website or take-out. If the girls find out, they will check on-line and get pissed if you give a bad report and then bad luck for the poor sap that picks her next and gets the brunt of her anger or even shittier service.

Yes, I've seen the shills on the Beijing forum. They are rampant. And, I agree about not telling the girls.

However, I would think that if you are in the 'business' that you would want to be aware that there is a 'TripAdvisor' for the hobby – and make sure your establishment is pleasing the clientele.

I stayed in the Jing'An temple area when I first arrived this time and all my favorite places are either closed or cleaned up. After pouting for awhile I decided to try out the string of BBSes reported on chengjia qiao lu at the intersection of jinhui lu. Arrived at 2AM. I initially approached from the south, but I would not recommend this as its a large desolated industrial area and gave me concern for safety.
