I went to the vila many times and got too comfortable. It was on Saturday night August 8th. There was a young woman in the bar area spreading eagle showing her stuff. Me and 2 other brazilian men where taking pictures of her. (I will show fotos later). About 1 hour later I went back out into the street to go buy a beer. My money was in the same pocket as my Canon camera. I pulled my camera out along with my money to buy the beer. About 5 minutes later a man come up to me speaking portuguese. After he realized I didn't understand very well, he asked if I spoke ingles? He said to me " I'm a police officer. You do not take pictures in the vila mimosa". I replied where is your identification? He then said "give me your camera! " After not complying he got a quick sucker punch in on me. He had 2 friends along with him yelling something at me in portuguese. Quickly, I walked back into the hall way of the bar/brothel area. He first hesitated on following me back in, then he came at me once again trying to reach into my pocket with the camera. I pushed him and ran into the 1st bar area, climbed threw the open window leading to the opposite hallway. Then I ran into the street towards the railroad tracks and found a taxi and got the hell out of there. No way was I going to let him take my camera. What fooled me was the man was clean cut and looked like he could be a cop. He was about 6'2"- 6'3", 190 to 210lbs, black hair. I wanted to hit him back, mace him or cut him with my tactical pocket knife. Howvere, my first instinct was flight not fight because of the location. I will post all my fotos tomorrow.
