Living in Laureles /2 bedroom, 2 flrs, great area / chica friendly
You can check the price of Hotel Botero.
Maybe it is better you look for a place after you arrive.
I don't feel you need to live in centro to get to centro. Laureles has quite a few casas, spas and many prepagos. Really safe and active area to stay. Centro is a 10 minute drive, $2 taxi ride. Take it from me though, the street Walker action and sorting through the grime is not worth the many laps necessary to find something, but it is entertaining to visit and good local food. New life and other casa, strip clubs. Casas in the area might be a better chase. Only been to new life and highly recommended it. Keep in mind people love to say they have been with 7's and 10's. If you find one on the streets of centro please call me LOL. You find 7's and 10's, at la Isla, false dos, gustos, Lleras park, walking the streets in residential areas, and places similar to those venues. 17 days here and that's my limited experience and take on a few things.
Is there a Dr on the Board
I'm just trying to figure out who is the doctor on the board, because many people can go to Google and Google information even medical personnel can Google information but if you're not a doctor who can diagnose assess evaluate and treat what it is that you're retrieving from Google you're just like other people causing much more panic. I need a Dr who has contracted Covid 19 to confirm or deny all the Google diagnosis that BMs are spreading across the board! Then again, the cockiness & arrogance mixed with all of the BS, many board members wouldn't trust a legit Dr, pollo negro is out!
Incredible level of idiocy on display
Why do you assume it will hit every country just as hard? Colombia is no further from China than Europe, so why has it hit Europe much harder than here? Because of the massive movement of people to and between those countries, because there are no borders at all between the Schengen countries in Europe, and because more people get sick in winter weather. The amount of international arrivals here is a trickle in comparison to Europe. And no two countries are the same, France and Germany have both almost 5000 cases each but 91 deaths in France and only 9 in Germany, 10 times as many ! So why is that if it's just about geometrics ?
And what does it matter how good your healthcare insurance is? If you've read about corona virus you would know that the only medication against it is your own immune system and rest. And I'm sure that my immune system is much better and stronger relaxing in a warm climate eating well than in a colder one, with the stresses of daily life plus the added stress of 24/7 western media panic about the virus. In fact, I was just chatting to a buddy of mine who is a leading medical professor at a North American university and he pointed out that it's not affecting the tropics so much. Look at the map, there aren't many cases in South America or Africa, are there? And very few deaths from it in the tropics at all! Including places close to China (Thailand and Singapore for example). And people are watching the news and following advice here just as in other countries, they aren't being reckless or burying their heads in the sand.
And maybe I'm just not as worried about catching it as you are. You seem to be paranoid about getting it! You could die crossing the road in Medellin, there are risks in life! ! And if you're not elderly or have medical preconditions, your chances of it being fatal are very slim! I don't want to isolate myself away with books and video games like you, I prefer to enjoy my life! Be a survivalist if you want.
I'm not assuming anything, once it is there, it will grow exponentially simply because of its R0 factor. Yes, it took longer to arrive there but it is there now, so we will see the numbers grow quickly, or as quickly as testing is done, as that its the bottleneck. The countries that are performing the most testing, are the ones with the highest rates of infection. Just because some countries either don't have tests or have a high bar to qualify for testing doesn't mean they have low numbers of infection. Sorry to say, you are the one making many assumptions and not looking at ANY of the studies on this, which is obvious from your statements.

Why arent there many cases in SA and Africa? There are cases, so now you're just making stuff up to fit your own mental narrative. One third of African countries have reported cases as of two days ago. The medical community has been especially concerned for Africa because of its inability to handle epidemics. I keep saying it and you keep ignoring it, its not that there ARENT cases, it is because they dont have the protocols in place and they do not have tests. The answer youre looking for is TESTING. You have a false sense of how many cases exist because of LACK OF TESTING.

Thailand hasn't been testing. BUT they have had an exponential increase in "viral pneumonia" Coincidence?

Your other points are simply idiotic. Yes, you can die in myriad of ways. But you chances of getting hit by a car don't double every day over and over. Do they? I am not paranoid about getting it because I am in my house, with a massive private terrace, with views, in Puerto Rico, in a warmer and more humid climate than Colombia. I would be far more concerned getting it being in an international travel destination, smashing chicas everyday who are frequently around other international travelers. That is obviously high risk behavior.
Why do I care about healthcare? Do I even need to answer that? Because half of the hospitalized cases in Spain are under 50. Many doctors have posted from Italy saying that their ICU is over capacity with people UNDER 60. I would prefer to be in the US than Colombia IF I were to get it. I am doing everything I can to mitigate that. As Mojo said, the young and healthy idiots who are going around like normal and luckily many do not have symptoms, but they are carriers and you are putting other people at risk. Clearly, you have no regard for other people and their health.
France and Spain just went full lockdown. I rather be in my own house than locked in an Airbnb. If you don't think Colombia will follow suit on this, you're being incredibly thick headed.

As Incognito said, if everyone practiced social distancing for 30 days, the rates would drop significantly and everything could go back to normal. But there are too many people like yourself who are selfish and don't understand math, or clearly even able to read and just ask stupid questions on public forums and are the reason this will go on for many months. Do you think I want to isolate myself for 30 days? No of course not but its a small inconvenience to save lives of my elderly neighbors and to help bring down the infection rate.
