Bar owners aren't the sharpest drill bits in the tool box
There are so many ways to cut the AirCon bills down, mostly by paying atttention to basic details of geometry and architecture. And you know, this information has all been out there since the first oil shocks in 1973.
No one here does any of it. Jisco, everyone in this town is still using electricity to make domestic hot water, for christ's sake. I hope they all go broke, they richly deserve it. Maybe then Darwinism can prevail.
Model (Filipino) Minority
agree. however, as you would already know electricity cost in the ph is truly out of this world with very high cost which would easily take a bars income.
yep. especially aircons which really push the power cost.
not everyone spends 5000 pesos all nights. rarely folks like you or i tourist alike come and spend heavily. rest of the nights. its all the old retire expats who spend not more than 200 to 500 pesos and spend all night in the bar.
of course not that's why most of these guys love ermita street walkers and "freebies" sogos and eurotels so much.
even if you would not agree with the above things, it is really unfair that you target every filipino who would have a business.
first bl robbaff is one of the good guys. it' ok to attack "minorities" and host country nationals on this forum. it's not ok to attack the "establishment. " you walking a fine line bl next you will get moderated or the life threatening banned.
i enjoy reading your posts, i'm not trying to counter argue. but putting things in perspective. where is the need to bring in all filipinos in one basket just because ac was not on. its like saying all white man are ****s who come to asia. well, one would find it interesting that filipinos business in america is doing very well and they are one of the richest community in america.
on the same note. asian americans earn more than any other community in america including the majority white population. there household personal income is more than white, black and hispanics. they are doing way better in education than the jewish group also which were considered the most educated which the asian community has now surpassed.
if you read about the filipino community in eu or us you would know, they are as successful as japanese or koreans or any other races.

its few rotten apples that screw the whole thing. only few families control majority of business in ph and its laws are screwed to their advantage. only recently the ph government agreed to kick start nuclear power plant again. which could solve the elec. problems. if you read philippines history. its the spanish chinese hybrid families that control everything here. ordinary filipinas whom we go on a date with or monger are the real pure bred in the ph who suffer the most
http://en. wikipedia.org/wiki/model_minority
while some asian americans hold pride in the model minority image, the consensus in academia and the field of asian american studies is that the model minority myth is detrimental to the asian pacific american (apa) community, used to justify the exclusion of needy apa communities in the distribution of assistance programs, public and private, and understate or slight the achievements of apa individuals. communities that are especially affected are south east asian communities, e. g. cambodian-american, and the pacific islander community, e. g. persons with origins in guam and micronesia; these communities have much lower education rates and higher poverty rates. chinese, japanese, korean, filipino and indian americans are over twice as likely to graduate with a bachelor's degree than most members of other asian-american groups. the model minority myth relies on the aggregation of success indicators, hiding the plight of recent first-generation immigrants under the high success rate of more established asian communities.
bl have you heard the model minority myth? most of the asians who immigrate to the western nations were successful in their own countries. a lot of asian immigrates were students or already held professional degrees before immigrating which translate into an easier "adjustment" for them. trust me. there is not a horde of filipino jeepney drivers are going to the us then becoming computer engineers and doctors. as for the aristocratic families who keep pi from prospering well western nationals have these too.
