I have never lacked for things to do in BKK. Sorry, but I must disagree. Besides, BKK is more than just the Nana area. I also find that there are far more options, variety, etc. in BKK for both the woman and the eats.

I have biz visit once a while to BKK and am looking around for a suitable karaoke place. Please don't flame me for not RTFF but I'm looking for a reasonable priced karaoke lounge ( more english based ) in BKK where the standard activities are available , with ladies for take out. Can't afford those fancy karaokes where the Japs usually hang out so , can the local expats here help out !

The forum is about mongering in Thailand, if some guys prefer Katoeys that is their choice, there are four Katoey bars in Nana Plaza, that tells me that there must be a demand for them.

I'm going to be in Bangkok for four days and then heading to Hua Hin and staying at the Hyatt. Given the limited P4P in Hua Hin, I'm thinking of bringing a girl with me.
Any tips and advice from those of you who have done this on how to select a compatible companion for one of these trips? Any questions I can ask the girl that would help predict whether she would be a good one to take with me? I will at least go LT with the girl before considering asking her to go with me, but with only four days before I leave, I probably need to get started looking as soon as I get there.

I wouldn't bother. For starters, Hua Hin's P4P opportunities are not all that limited. There are dozens of lady bars within a few blocks of the Hua Hin Hilton. And secondly, I have found that you cannot force it as far as meeting ladies who are actually good companions for more than a few good shags. There is a BIG difference between someone who's good to fuck, and someone whom you actually want to be around for several days at a time while NOT just fucking them.
If you meet someone worth taking a few days trip with, you will know it. But, I'd expect that the ladies who make good trip companions might be at BEST, 1 in 10, and more likely, closer to 1 in 100.
The following information is primarily directed towards newbies for generalization purposes. Senior members will agree that some of the information does not always hold true. I am a new member as you can see by number of postings. I have just completed my fourth 2 month trip to Thailand so by no means an expert. After having read just about every posting I felt I should make my contribution. So here are a few generalizations that may assist you in having a great time:
1. It is all about the money. Do not kid yourself that someone has been waiting their entire life just on the chance of finally meeting the fine sole that I am sure you are.
2. Everything is negotiable in Thailand.
3. Do not give your email address or phone number out. You will be hearing all about their bad luck the rest of your life asking you to help out. There is always someone I'll, the water buffalo just died, the rice field etc, etc. The girls are always on the lookout for another sponsor.
4. If you take one to your place have an exit strategy. Remember most of them share a very small one room flat with 3-4 other people. If you lived that way wouldn't you want to stay in a large hotel room with cable, A/see, hot water, soft bed with clean sheets, etc.
5. Do not be sucked into buying drinks for their friend who has not been "lucky" that night. It is somewhat of their belief that since you have been "lucky" enough to afford to come there you should pass your luck around. Some of that belief has its merits but pick and chose where YOU want to pass some luck along.
6. The argument the bar girls will make about bar fines is you are essentially buying an insurance policy against being robbed, change of heart once in room, get what you paid for, no HIV. If you have a problem you can in theory go back to bar and complain, which potentially can cause problems for the girl, and get your bar fine back. With freelancers you may regret the bar fine you saved. Ran into a long time resident of the Nana area once. He told me how he would buy a bunch of cheap knock off gold necklaces. Whenever he went to bed he would make point of placing on counter. Usually it and the girl were gone in the morning. He figured it was cheaper that way. What could she do.come back and complain that she stole a cheap necklace.
7. I was told by one of the bar girls it was true that the bar fine goes to the bar up to a point. If she was bar fined more than 6? Times in a month she got 1/2 the bar fine. Sounded logical to me. She also mentioned that a girl was not bar fined enough she was fired. She was not making enough money for the bar.
8. The bar girl gets 1/2 the price of the drink you buy here. I have sat in the same bar all night and seen some girls not have one drink bought for them. What kind of amazes me is that they look at it that they were not "lucky" that night. Maybe the next night will be better. If you will notice whenever you see a bar you will see a small shrine with incense and drinks. Every girl when she comes to work will make a small offering and say a small prayer hoping for a lucky night. So point is if you sit with a girl for awhile or play connect 4 or one of the other games buy her a drink. That is how she makes her money.
9. Agree up front what services you want rendered. Do not expect certain items off the usual menu without agreeing in advance. Better to be turned down before you have paid bar fine than after you get to room.
10. Personally I have found that if the girl is not out going and enthusiastic while talking to her she probably will not be much better after you leave.
Just a few thoughts to think about before you adventure out. Nothing earth shattering but food for thought. Above all else never ever forget #1 It is all about the money.

I have travelled repeatedly with my "friend", and watched other mates travelling with me who believe in the 3F approach. I've come back from a golf game to find a hot bath run, received a sensual massage and great sex, while they come back from golf and have a few drinks, get ready to go to the Novotel, and come back with various girls, with highly varible results in terms of a) quality of experience b) quantity of experience.
But they enjoy what they do, I enjoy what i do!
(although on many occasions after not so good experiences they tell me they wish they had an arrangement like mine...)
You just need to keep a reality perspective - don't fall in love (she won't) don't try to change her (she won't) - just enjoy the moments!

I agree, it's great if it happens (And I have experienced the exstacy of it when it does). But my contention is, you cannot PLAN IN ADVANCE on finding such a lady in just a few days trip. When you go in with that type of goal in mind, you will probably end up force-fitting it with a lady who is NOT that 1 in 100 or 1 in 1000 lady, but rather, whom you will be sorry you took with you. It's one thing to be open to the experience if it happens naturally, but it's quite another to go in with the agenda of making it happen. If that's the plan, I predict a dismal failure.

I have been to that Hyatt with my TGF several times. The hotel is out by itself and not very convienent to town. I don't think they would hassle you about bringing someone back, but you will stick out. The hotel guests tend to be family, so there will not be many young Thai girls there. And the bigger the age gap between you and your "date" the more the older farang women will give you those dirty looks.

Agreed. If at all possible, the Hilton and the Sofitel are much more conveniently located in the center of Hua Hin. There are also several much less upscale places in the midst of the lady bars, such as the Thipurai City Inn.

There are also other Expats by the Pool with Thai Girls.
If the Older Farang women give you a dirty look, just smile and say hello, they will run away from you pretty quick.
Hyatt is a very nice property just 2 miles from HH, rent a bike there and it will be only 5mn drive from Center HH to Hyatt. Hilton hotel not that nice, I like the Resort Feel of the Hyatt better. Marriott also has the best Beach in HH.
HH has plenty of Girls available, you'll for sure find what you are looking for there
Thanks everyone for the advice on finding a girl to take. I'll go with the expectation that it's unlikely I'll find someone and not try to force it.
FWIW, I'm an American-born Chinese (I look mixed though, I'm often mistaken for being half Caucasian or even Latino or Pacific Islander sometimes) who can pass for under 30, although I'm 10 years older than that, so perhaps I won't stick out if I'm with a twenty-something Thai girl.
