The girls will keep you company and if you like her you take her out. I forgot to mention that you have to pay the bar the time she sits with you, if memory serves me right it was around 300 Baht/45 minutes for each girl.

Other establishments that are similar to the Pent are the Champagne room ( between the JW Marriott and NEP) and the Ritz on Soi 11 ( next to Q bar)

I went there about a year ago too, and the deal was Baht 600 cover charge = 2 beers, NO other charges or requests. I could have sat there all night for Bt600 (if I only drank two beers). No buying bottle or membership mentioned to me.

It is somewhat of their belief that since you have been "lucky" enough to afford to come there you should pass your luck around. Some of that belief has its merits but pick and chose where YOU want to pass some luck along.

6. The argument the bar girls will make about bar fines is you are essentially buying an insurance policy against being robbed, change of heart once in room, get what you paid for, no HIV. If you have a problem you can in theory go back to bar and complain, which potentially can cause problems for the girl, and get your bar fine back. With freelancers you may regret the bar fine you saved. Ran into a long time resident of the Nana area once. He told me how he would buy a bunch of cheap knock off gold necklaces. Whenever he went to bed he would make point of placing on counter. Usually it and the girl were gone in the morning. He figured it was cheaper that way. What could she do.come back and complain that she stole a cheap necklace.

7. I was told by one of the bar girls it was true that the bar fine goes to the bar up to a point. If she was bar fined more than 6? Times in a month she got 1/2 the bar fine. Sounded logical to me. She also mentioned that a girl was not bar fined enough she was fired. She was not making enough money for the bar.

8. The bar girl gets 1/2 the price of the drink you buy here. I have sat in the same bar all night and seen some girls not have one drink bought for them. What kind of amazes me is that they look at it that they were not "lucky" that night. Maybe the next night will be better. If you will notice whenever you see a bar you will see a small shrine with incense and drinks. Every girl when she comes to work will make a small offering and say a small prayer hoping for a lucky night. So point is if you sit with a girl for awhile or play connect 4 or one of the other games buy her a drink. That is how she makes her money.

9. Agree up front what services you want rendered. Do not expect certain items off the usual menu without agreeing in advance. Better to be turned down before you have paid bar fine than after you get to room.

10. Personally I have found that if the girl is not out going and enthusiastic while talking to her she probably will not be much better after you leave.

Just a few thoughts to think about before you adventure out. Nothing earth shattering but food for thought. Above all else never ever forget #1 It is all about the money.

I believe it's strictly take out, although I'm not an expert on the place, having been there just twice now. I did not see any rooms, nor was I offered to go to any rooms. You sit and drink with the girl and decide if you are interested, if not see if you can find someone else you fancy.

There's a stage where a band plays for most of the evening and a back bar area, where the guys and gals mingle. There was also a small room, where more girls were sitting down. Nice selection.

I'll visit them on my next trip and see what has changed.

Did you come to an agreement with one of the girls? If so, how much did you end up paying?

From "here to Hanoi", all they just want your money. I'm a fat, pockmark faced, balding 64 year old and I see all these guys 1/2-1/3rd my age with nasty old dragons. I met some British dude on the plane that looked like a young Ben Cross and he tagged along w/us into the Nana lot last Labor Day and immediately got into the grasp of a silicone titted, 30 something trollup that kept him in her grips for the rest of his trip. She dragged him off to Kho Samoi, and other places with a whole lot less availabe booty so she'd have control. Don't waste you time with the same girl! I found when you take them someplace, just like the ones back home, they suddenly feel like they are in contol of the situations. We were drilling 20 year olds while this stud looking guy was taking this tatooed 'ho out to restaurants and off to other places. I might take a cute one to Bangkok from Pattaya for the day by bus, and that is IT!. I have left several by the side of the road and have had many ejected from my hotel because they'd get pissy and snap at me for silly crap when I'd take them on road trips. You pack their bags while they are in the shower and call security. Watching them on their knees, wai-ing and begging forgivness is almost as much fun as getting your butt licked at Eden while getting a knob polishing. There is a lot of "face losing" that these ladies need to undergo. They might threaten you with an ass kicking from a Cop or a katooee (sorry) but I have never had any repercussions. You never forgive them, you just leave them there and move on. With the pooyings they are always seeing how far they can push you and how much they can get you to buy them. And the most cunning ones know how to do it without even asking!!

Went to the Biergarten on Soi 7 last night around 5 pm. The place was quite full, with a nice ratio of men to women. Lots of choice for all the men there.

I've read many reports on this board and generally they describe the women as "average or below" or "5s and 6s" or similar ratings. Maybe it's just because I'm an old ugly fart but I thought the collection of ladies was excellent. True there were no 18 year olds or runway models but I was surrounded by dozens of hot girls/women in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s, all attractive and friendly in the way that Thai girls excel. I took a pair of them back to the JW Marriott and they both did everything I asked, kept smiling the whole time, and in no rush to leave. I'm sure I'll go back and extract a few more ladies from the Biergarten before I head for home.

And speaking of the JW, about 30 minutes after the girls left, my doorbell rang and one of the girls was standing there, turns out she had left a small handbag behind. She had been escorted up to my door by a JW security man, who stood by discreetly while she came in and retrieved the missing bag. So clearly a girl-friendly place!

In your post you mentioned nana and cowboy as basically your 2 choices, hell on most trips to bkok I stay in either suk 11 or 19 and I don't even venture into nana, I may poke my nose into cowboy once or twice during a 3 week stay, there are so many other places in bkok that leave nana and cowboy for dead.

I guess I'll always be a fan of bkok.

I'm not sure I'm following on this one. Are you saying he didn't pay the girl, just let her steal the fake jewelry instead? If so, are you sure this guy is still alive? I won't say more til you clarify, maybe I read that wrong.

Sounds like he left the fake gold as bait and the girl left without requesting payment, thinking she had stolen some gold.
It's a trick sure, but the girl left without giving him a chance to pay.

Yeah but it's a con game, which will be obvious to the girl as soon as she finds out the necklace is fake. Seems pretty stupid to me. According to the law of the streets, it's her turn next to send someone around to have a little 'talk' with him. And that's fair. He asked for it. If your interpretation's right (which was how I read it), it seems like a pretty seedy thing to do.

Well, if she was honest, she could wait until morning when he paid her and she wouldn't be stuck with the fake necklaces. IT is seedy on both of their parts.

If you cross a Thai, you are very likely to end up regretting it in a very spectacular way. They are masterfull and merciless at revenge.

You might end up in the sack with a drop-dead gorgeous 18 year old who infects you with HIV, Hep C and D, and God knows what else. Or in a bloody heap some where. Or worse.

I've been over 30 times in the last 22 years and for your own well being you should take my word on this. Don't mess around with the Thais or you will possibly end up being hurt very badly, one way or the other.

I've lived in Thailand for a couple of years all up, and in my opinion the gold necklace stunt is more likely to be viewed as 'instant karma' rather than something that needed retaliating against.

This is my first report ever and I am thankful to all in the forum who has been writing about the experiences.

Landed in BKK at 2030 Hrs.

Beware all nationals who needs a visa on arrival. You need to show USD 300/- for gettingthe visa. as a normal traeller, I carry my lots of plastic nd couple of USD 100/-. I had to run very hard from pillar to post to get the money out an ATM machine which of course is not there. Finally managed to get the money out of exchange centre located at the 4th floor of the Duty free shopping mall.

By the time it was 0300 Hrd - Tired to the core.

Then landed upon Livingstons.

Aircon, TV, Towels, spreads. Excellent.

The place is fantastic in all the ways.

Just like the descriptions in the forum.

Very coutreous staff.

Only thing I disliked was that in the internet lobby the girls keeps on playing games in the only monitor available - which I thought was unfair to the customers.
I strongly do recommend the place to all people.

Just fantastic and good for the money spent.
