Bangkok Reports

I have a busy travel schedule and will be in BKK for just one day. I arrived Sunday night and depart on Tuesday morning. It seems that the 19th and perhaps the 20th are some sort of high religious holiday. No alcohol sales on the 20th. I don't seem to be able to figure out what is happening on the 18th, it's a bridge holiday? Everybody gets a 4 day weekend. I was hoping to book a Thai cooking class but they all seem closed on the 18th for the holiday.

Will it be business as usual on the 18th or will there be an alcohol ban and bars closed?

I may be wrong but from what I hear all bars that serve alcohol to be closed on July 19 and 20. I understand July 18 is only a holiday for some but bars are open. Not sure about your cooking class.

Many of the girls I know are going home for the entire week so things may be quiet next week.

All of the cooking classes I tried to book online showed as being closed.

Of course there are still myriads of girls which "working" for a living, so anyone who is in search for a quick bang without hassles should have no problem and for which I am myself happy to have this offer around.

Looks and personality are indeed important points for the other growing pool of girls, which are simply not interested in a few thousand bahts. I know personally of an incident where was 50'000 Baht offered for a night, and it was declined. You should have a good portion of humor as well. Thai girls like to flirt and play around, its part of their life culture and you won't succeed with ignoring it.

If you can buy her family a water buffalo then you must be successful. If you can put a new roof on the family house, then you must be successful. I do feel sorry for the pretty girls who think they've hooked themselves a winner but in reality its a loser who figured out his unemployment check goes much farther in Thailand. Have a 33 year old relative who's been living at home his whole life with dad paying the bills, engaged to a cutie and finally got his ass out of bed to look for a job knowing that marriage won't last long with his wife working and him sitting at home playing video games. But who's going to hire a mid 30's guy with no work experience? Go to Thailand is my thinking.

Hey it's been a long time since I've been to bkk, so I was wondering if anyone could give a brief update on best places to pick up a freelancer (e. G. , thermae) and current ballpark rates for ST and overnight.

I have been RTFF but it's not that easy to glean such info.

Discos: Climaxx, Spicey, Bangkok Beat, Mixx, Insomnia, Sugar, Levels (you can catch some of them across the street in Oskar's restaurant bar before they go to Levels too).

High end: Spasso.

I probably missed some. Let us know how it goes.

I was dating a very nice coyote from Soi cowboy and she gave me plenty info on the other coyotes, they all have guys back home and will go short time for large sums of money in the 10's of 1000 s,but not always if their guys doesn't agree. I took this coyote back to my hotel and she wouldn't do the business for free or cash. This coyote did do the pickup joints after the bars closed. But she was doing a book keeping and financial course to get away from the bars which I believe she did as not seen in cowboy any more.

The bars ban them from doing ST but they do on occasion if money is right.

The places that Uncle V and BKKDog list are an excellent set. As to your question of standard price, in my view, there is no such thing any more. In the old days, as well as the somewhat recent past, you could state with confidence that ST=1500, LT=2000, or something to that effect. You can also do this still (to some degree) with gogo girls. But with FLs, it does not work. We can still give you a ballpark figure (as you say), but there are many variables that will affect the price you ultimately arrive at.

1. Location. If you go to Spasso, you're looking at a minimum 5000 baht price tag, unless you are one charming mother fucker. If you go to Beer Garden, you could easily get 1500ST. Two years ago, I had no problem getting girls from Climaxx to go for 1000ST. That was very ST though: in and out, 1000 baht out the door, the girl goes right back to Climaxx. I don't think you can do that anymore, but for 1500 it's possible at Climaxx and Beer Garden, and probably Bangkok Beat (though I don't know that for sure). Also, if you find a SW on Suk, 1000 is not out of the question, though I have always been quoted 1500. To be honest, I ask the price, but I rarely partake in the SW scene.

So here is my estimation of prices (other members will surely correct me, if I estimate incorrectly). And keep in mind that the lower bound and upper bound are flexible, dependent on many factors, some of which are listed below.

Spasso (Hyatt Hotel): 5000-7000 baht.

Mixx (Intercontinental Hotel): 3000-5000 baht (maybe more, depending on the girl).

Levels (soi 11): 3000-5000 baht.

Bed Supper Club (soi 11): 3000-5000 baht.

Q Bar (soi 11): 2500-4000 baht.

Climax: (soi 11): 1500-4000 baht.

Beer Garden: 1500-3000 baht.

Nana Hotel Carpark: 1000-4000 baht.

SW on Suk: 1500-3000 baht.

I have not pulled anyone from Spicy or Bossy or RCA or Thermae for a few years, so don't know the most up to date figures. Others can correct the above, as I said, if I have made an error.

2. Time of the night. Early in the evening, you won't get girls going down to 1000 or 1500. Later in the night / morning, like 3 am or beyond, you might be able to close a deal for 1000ST at Climaxx. If you are doing LT, this is less of a variable, but may still be part of your calculation.

3. The girl. If she is super hot, young, well-dressed, etc. , you are not touching her for less than 4000-5000 baht. If has a hot body but an ugly face, you have a shot for 2000 I would say (just my guess, not possible to give you compelling evidence for this). If she has an ugly face, is awkward, acceptable body, then you have a chance at a real deal, I suppose, if all you care about is the money. But if she has a reasonable face, a reasonable body, and a reasonable attitude, I think you can expect to pay the figures I list above by location. There was a recent post here by Undercoverh describing a SW near Nana car park who was a teacher from Korat, and the gentleman had a great experience with her for 800 baht. But that dude knew what he was doing, and was far more in the know than me. My point is that the price was dictated by the gent knowing the girl's situation. 4. Whether you pick her or she signals to you. In a nightclub, if you walk up to a girl without having established any chemistry with her, you will pay more. If, on the other hand, she has been glancing at you, or raises her drink to you, or somehow signals to you that you meet her fancy, then the price will be lower. I expect the spread to be a good 2000 baht, I. E. , if she likes you, she may ask for 3000, but if she does not, she may ask for 5000. So my recommendation is to [B]not pick[/B] the hottest girl in the bunch, but to pick the hottest girl from amongst the ones that are showing you some attention. It has worked for me on many, many occasions.

5. You. If you smell, dress poorly, are over weight, give off a bad vibe, look stingy, etc. , you will be charged more. Nothing anyone of us can do about this, but we need to be aware that these girls have agency and they can select the guy they want to be intimate with. One way they do this, without straight-up rejecting you, is to offer a very high price. If you accept, then the unpleasant experience for her turns out to be a rent-covering experience. And if you turn her down, then there has been no conflict, and you move on.

6. Other factors. Is her rent due tomorrow? Does her family need more money than usual right now? Is she feeling cranky? Did her best friend just annoy her, putting her in a bad mood? Is she drunk? Did she just come back from ST with someone else? All these things will affect the price you can get, so the figures listed above may very well change. Nonetheless, in my opinion, these figures give a good estimate for what to expect.

Whatever the case, I (we) would appreciate it if you report back on your own experience (including what you actually paid), so we can see if these figures are indeed correct.
