Pachara suites or dynasty grande?
I like Phachara better, definitely. I was just giving an opinion of overall rating, including price of course. Phachara use to have the exact price as Dynasty. Now Phachara has raised their price about 10-15% above. Not much, but an issue for some. If price is no object, JW Mariott.
Last stayed at the dynasty grande late 2011 then Phachara Suites feb last year and was not too impressed with either, but the phachara was better. Liked having the kitchenette, but the clean up in the room was lousy and the room stank of smoke even though it was meant to be non smoking.
I thought the dynasty grande was run down. Worn out everything in the rooms but they also tried to charge me for minibar stuff I did not use, blood staining sheets and also for phone calls I did not make.
I'm staying at Grand sukhumvit also in soi 6 next, arriving in a fortnight (got loads of accor points so almost free) and will report on how that place is.
Budget matters so sadly won't be able to comment on JW Marriott but would like to be able to.
Chris Long Comming to Bangkok
I will be visiting for the first time in June I plan on spending four or five days in Bangkok and then two weeks in Pattaya. I have a late flight that does not get into BKK until 12:30 AM I want to get a hotel that is right in the heart of the action and easy for a newbe to BKK to figure out the scene and get some action on my first night. I was thinking of staying at the Nana Plaza hotel but I am open to any other suggestion from the board. I am looking for a modest price room. Where is a good place for a newbe to stay his first night so he can find the action late at night on the first night.
Thanks
Chris
