Alcohol and Buddha holiday's
Yes today and tomorrow is Buddha day's 19/20 it maybe open " the beer garden " but no beer ".
Currently I am not in Thailand but I remember from Buddhist holidays last December. Alcohol is forbidden but not in International Hotel chains; so Spasso was open that day and they are giving alcohol while Soi Cowboy earlier that evening was nearly dead.
Someone from Spasso staff told me: we can give alcohol because we are part of a International Hotel chain and that customers would not understand when that didn't have alcohol.
Some days later I spoke someone else who mentioned yes: same for Climax (Ambassador Hotel) or Levels opposite of the street (Westin Hotel), but she doubt if it was a rule: she mentioned more that (even under the current Military coupe) some police stations where willing to accept "influence" money.
If this is still current practice it means not everything is dead on a Buddhist holiday.
In 3 weeks time I am back for 2 months; as far as my calendar tells me: no buddhist holidays.
Hi guys,

Thanks.
Hello Dashy,
I am new to this forum. Request if you could share some pointers for right places to visit in Bangkok and applicable charges for ST / LT.
If you could share any contact of a goof indie in BKK Skumvit area I would be grateful. Thanking you in advance.
Ill Conceived Generalization
I laud your divine perception connected with the statement that "it's true" that scamming is driven by South Asian customers without a shred of evidence, but then, I guess you can't expect much more from a cheapskate lacking in judgement / education.
Unlike you, however, I'm not going to tar the entire inhabitants of the hole you crawled out of.
Agree on customers not willing to express dissatisfaction with service. That said there are customers who take advantage and girls who do not deliver as promised. Hard to say which is more prevalent or how frequent either happens. Providers not meeting expectations is quite often down to a lack of communication between parties not agreeing in some detail what boxes she is willing to tick. For obvious reasons younger girls are significantly more likely to disappoint both in skill set and attitude making it all the more important to have a conversation with management about what service you expect and whether she is willing to provide it..
