You talk about intent, and I think this is the key here. The intent was to deceive the girl. She is just as dishonest as he is. He placed a cheap piece of fake gold in plain view, in the hope she would get up, and take it and run. "HE figured it was cheaper that way". Deceptive and dishonest, on the part of the punter. We are not debating whether or not the girl is a thief, that is established. Some here think the guy did nothing wrong. I disagree. He lured her into thinking she was getting the best of him, when in fact, he was cheating her.

Does he have to live in fear of getting beaten up? No. Will he get beaten up? Maybe. Would I feel sorry if he did get beaten up? Not at all.

And for those who think it won't happen to them if they pull this trick, just read reports in the Pattaya thread, as mentionned by Wendella.

Again, only an unsavory character would pull this kind of stunt. Remember, you reap what you sow.

Why complicate things with fake jewellery? I find it much easier to leave a fake US$100 bill on the floor (oops, it must have fallen from my wallet). That way, if the WG steals it, she gets arrested and jailed when trying to use it, and doesn't have the chance to get revenge on me. By the time she's released, I'm smiling in my sleep on my flight all the way home.

The Law is such an elusive concept in Thailand.

In fact, there are many different and independent bodies of law in LOS, depending on whether you are rich or poor, HiSO, MidSo, Thai-Chinese, Indian, Farang, etc. There is a specific segment of law for the sole purpose of dealing with a recently ousted prime minister and his family.

I had the dubious privilege of visiting a large Thai police office and I saw the many guys they had arrested during a single slow evening in Thonglor, and how the policemen dealt with them. Not nice at all. And that was just the entry point into the legal system.

You really do not want to have anything to do with the Thai legal system. Fortunately that is true too for the regular Thai nationals we encounter in the pursuit of our hobby though, and that tends to safeguard our interests to a certain extent. But there are local thugs who believe they have rigged the system so that they can pretty much do anything they want and get away with it. Those are dangerous, because they act first and think after. Farangs get killed quite often; any embassy official can tell you that.

We are relatively unwelcome guests in Thailand. We need to keep that in mind at all times. We have very few rights, and very little to expect from LE. The men in brown are not there to protect us.

That is a devilishly ingenious idea, Piper. In a word … BRILLIANT!!! (Even if meant in jest) There is nothing dishonest or deceptive about it whatsoever. You get laid and a thief gets justice. I like it. Remember guys – not all tricks involve deception or dishonesty. Here the intent was to catch a thief. She got exactly what she wanted and so did he. He makes no promises or assurances. He merely relies upon her greed and criminal character to pull it off. Had she not committed the crime, she would have received her promised fee.

Seems to me that the united cheap Charly fraction of the members here is pretty enlightened and proud about the rip off if I just generalize. All the members usually fighting for the low budget entertainment show up and smile.

Yes the girl took the chance. Wonder if this would happen primarily to the low cost (and low brain) girls with their low cost (and low brain) customers. A girl with some thoughts may notice the trap (‘never saw a farang that is so stupid to put valuables in sight’.) so I am sure it primarily happens in the low budget area.

Not my style at all. I am an honest player and will not cheat the girl. My LT range is primarily between 2000 and up to 3000 baht LT. Probably my average was 500 baht above the low budget players, but it resulted in always good to outstanding performance, much more GFE then I can read here with just a bit attention to the girls beside honest play. Money and time I spend freely and I am sure I gain the overall better result. (Do have a nice good shaped wife and not a dragon at home, so some minimum standards apply). Never had any bad result so far, so not any baht in my mongering investment was a bad investment. I have yet to have a bad experience.

I can only speak for myself, but such crafty ploys are not part of my style either, although I can readily appreciate the cunning genius of it and compliment the punter on his intelligence. Poor Brain666 has more issues then how others are not following his irresponsible economic policy. Its loon-icy, what he is preaching.
First of all these TGs are making a salary far superior to what a college grad makes in the states. What he fails to comprehend is the differences between a 1st world economy and a 3rd world economy. I'm sorry, but this "looking out for your fellow monger" shit is just dumb when it comes to who, what, where, and how much you spend. There are millions of guys going through LOS. Do you really think anyone of them for a moment is thinking about anyone else but themselves when they are picking up a girl? Each hobbyist will pay what they can afford or are willing to pay. That's the bottom line. Look, I'm more than happy to assist the next guy, answering questions, buy him a beer, share some thoughts, share a cab ride, etc. Just don't ask me to determine what I do, who I see or what I spend, based on the next guys opinions.

It's an auction! Each girl has their own floor price in mind. Each bidder has their own ceiling. $3k may mean alot to you and almost nothing to someone else. Bidding will vary accordingly. Very simple. The good news is, the girl you passed on asking for $3k is not one of your choices, so it has zero impact on you. It only affects those willing to pay $3k, and then it becomes first come first served.

I hate to break this news, but the pricing structure is far more complicated than you make it out to be. There's basic inflation, the exchange rates, the Thai economy, the economy of the punter's homeland, increased demand from other Asian countries who once played primarily at home, etc. etc. etc. Asking the members of this board, to stop spending $3k is like throwing a pebble in the ocean and expecting a Tsunami. Not sure if this posted correctly, so I apologize if there was a delay.

Well, most of my time was spent at Livingstones Lodge, however My new friend PIT decided to take myself and my newbie comrades out on a little adventure. We finished up yet another good Thai dinner, hoped in 2 cabs (due to my wheelchair) and over drove the couple blocks over to the famed Soi Cowboy. It was a smaller street than I had thought, but what a site. Almost immediately the woman smelled fresh meat and attempted to solicit me. Big Vig ran to the other side of the Soi to find PIT while my large companion waited with me and tried to keep the chicks away long enough for us to meet up. You have to understand, that I’m easy as hell and will take almost the first girl that shows interest in me. In addition, I have the letters ATM stamped on my head and my friend knows it. He’s more of a body guard than anything else. For the sake of this report, I’ll dub him BG. Clever, huh.

At any rate, we meet up with PIT & Big Vig and headed over to Long Gun to take in a show. We got there just in time to see the girls puffin’ on some cigarettes and blowing smoke. I’ve seen it before and it still makes me laugh. They then blow out candles and some other silly tricks. Mean while I sent my Guard/buddy to find some cash. He came back just in time to see the chicks pop balloons with blow-darts. That was impressive. During the last of the show we finished up our drink as my buddy told us of some "trouble" he encountered at the ATM. As he was trying to make a withdraw some guy was standing too close and kept asking him something in Thai. Most likely the little guy was asking for change. However, he was leaning too close for my friend’s comfort as he entered the PIN. BG told him in an ineffectual manner to F-Off (he’s not one for subtlety). It finally end in a one finger poke to the guys sternum to move him on. If you saw BG’s arms, a one finger poke to someone 5’6" is pretty powerful. The guy stammered back a couple feet off balanced he said and was off. At a latter time I warned BG that type of action could have resulted very poor for him despite his size and strength. From what I understand and heard Thais’ operate on a different level and really don’t believe in the "mono y mono" fights. Please, correct me if I’m wrong.

Once the show was over and BG completed his story we ventured down to Cowboy 2 (I think). We were ushered in quickly and I was given a front row seat at the stage. A perfect view for myself. Normally, I’ve got a great view of the girls as I sit about 3’6" and can see everything. At the stage I’m looking straight to the moon and stars. I think PIT was a bit jealous? . As we sat there PIT was showing me the ropes and noticed me eyeing this one girl. He asked if I liked her and upon my affirmation, he waived her over. She looked really nice. I saw another good looker as well and PIT called her over too. As we talked, she and I, she suggested that I take her friend out too. I looked at PIT with wide eyes and he said go for it man. We grabbed Mama-san and said we’d BF the two girls. PIT negotiated for me, $2500 each LT. At the last minute the 2nd girl bowed out and a replacement was brought in. That was fine by me as I’d rather have someone that accepts me and is willing to have fun. As we were negotiating, BG found a nice girl himself and the four of us were off to get back to the hotel. Big Vig and PIT stayed to look around some more. BTW, PIT thanks again for the loan. Note, if you have a Master Card/Cirrus card, find an ATM before you hit up Soi Cowboy. BG couldn’t find one that took my card.

We pilled into the cab and went back to the lodge. I think BG took Big Vig’s room and I took my girls back to mine. I for the life of me can’t remember there names. There was the older one and then the younger one with a big rack. As soon as we got to the room, they wanted to eat. Room service was over so I sent the young one out to get food while the older chick washed me up. I think in hindsight Eden might be better for 2 girl action as all they did was take shifts. Older than younger then I hit the older one again. I was pretty tired and not too thrilled with the younger girl’s performance so I opted to let them go upon there request/nagging. I just wanted to sleep at that point.
