Anyone have a review on a night spot call "Spice" at the Ambasador hotel.

Is it worth going? Best time to go?

The debate is about intent, yes, making this guy wrong. But spare a thought for the guys out there whose only intention was to pay the girl fairly yet were still cheated.
I dont condone the cheap necklace trick, but it really made me smile when I read about it. The point being, that the sneaky fucking thief got what she deserved.

I stayed at the Ambassador a few years ago. Average hotel with a decent location. I passed by the night club that they have and it's very small. Not sure if this is the night spot that you are referring to. The only people in the club, were a handful of guests and a couple of guys with their Thai sweethearts for the night.

I can't imagine much has changed, so I would say that it's probably not worth going to. Like I said, that was a few years ago, so someone else might want to chime in. I'm in LOS right now, but I have no plans on going there, so I won't be able to give a FR.

The best action is always where the guys and the money are. There's nothing about the Ambassador to suggest that a club there would have the kind of fun you are looking for.

I was there last week with some friends. It costs 200 baht which includes one drink. It is open late but I think it is best if you go with friends because it is not really a pickup joint. It is dark and everyone seems to hang out with their own group.

Visited the NEP twice last week, had a great time. I wandered in and out of several bars, each and every one had a lot of cute girls dancing, friendly wait staff, helpful mamasans, and cheap drinks. It's easy to make eye contact with the dancing girl that catches your fancy, just flash her a big smile and she'll come and join you when her dance shift is over. Buy her a lady drink and she'll sit and chat, and allow a little friendly groping. Eventually she'll ask to be barfined, or mamsan will wander by and try to close the deal.

One thing I noticed, just as a baseball team has a manager and several coaches, some of these bars have a manager (mamasan) and several coaches (experienced bar girls). The coaches will wander around the room and 'coach' the shy/inexperienced bar girls by giving them tips ("hey rookie, put your hand on his crotch! ") and encouragement ("he likes you, give him a little kiss! "). The coaches will also ask the customer if they are happy with their girl, and if not, in comes a relief pitcher!

My best experience was in Angelwitch, really fun atmosphere, fun girls, and I barfined a cute, busty Cambodian girl named Beah. She was very eager to please and took great care of me.

Carnival was also fun, they have a revolving stage that looks like a Merry-Go-Round and a mechanical bull. The staff worked hard to keep the customers happy.

Last but not least was Mandarin, where instead of a large single stage they have 7 mini-stages, each one holds 2 girls. When you first go in you choose the girl you like and she'll climb up on your mini-stage and give you your own personal go-go dance. If there's any chemistry just invite her down to join you for some chatting and groping. The guy next to me had three girls dancing for him, he was pulling down their tops and bottoms, lots of kissing and touching and laughing, they were all having a blast!

Bottom line: go to NEP, you'll have a blast!

Then got mad, because one from the second group asked for my number. It was wild. The first girl stormed off in a cab. Interesting. Is the club located at the back left corner of the hotel or is this something new (2nd floor or some new extension)? You are referring to the Ambassador on Soi 11?

The Spice Club is quite new, the entrance is via the parking lot of the Ambassador on Soi 11.
200 baht entrance gets you a "free drink", I did not like it personally, music far too loud and very dark, picking up a girl would be possible if you could see her and hear her.
The other thing I found annoying is the waiters shining a torch at my beer every three minutes ----you do not get that problem at CM2.

Attacks on foreigners, that's what I was talking about, just in case there's any confusion, which I doubt there is. I was looking for the posts I'd read -- one in particular was a guy's account of getting jumped outside Thermae by guys who'd just been hired by a furious bargirl to beat up not him but his friend. (he suspects the thugs mistook him for his friend) He described being totally overwhelmed in numbers, them with sticks and bars, leaving him in a bloody unconscious heap to be taken by taxi to the hospital, where he woke up later and got to spend a few days. This particular story might be on another Thailand mongering forum, not this one. Guess I can't link to it from here acc to forum rules. Maybe a PM would be allowed if Jackson approves of that.

There's a big competing board to this one that has whole threads just on this subject. Attacks with iron bars and knives (stabbings in the face and head, no less), and worse, you can imagine -- but I think in this kind of situation, they'd probably just try to beat the shit out of the guy and send him to the hospital. The girl would pay some street toughs to do it. I'm sure most girls wouldn't do this, I think I already did mention that, but it's that eventual unbalanced one you'd have to worry about.

But seriously, you guys think you're immune to getting attacked in Thailand? Because you're larger than Thais? The scary part is how you seem to be giggling as you ridicule me for pointing this out.

The last girl I went with, I paid her $7 too much by accident and she counted it, then handed it back to me. Then I tried to give her a tip and she didn't want to take it. In 7 yrs, I've only had one cheap backup mobile phone stolen by a girl who was very obviously no good (a clear mistake I should have ditched).
