It's a hit or miss. I scored with the second girl I started exchanging e-mails with. And another just in the same week. That was a year ago. Last 9-10 months was quiet. It either ended up with a girl working for a saloon, or she stopped replying after few messages. I am now connected with another girl whom I will meet next week. I don't think it's worth the effort. Real-life, I mean the normal clubs/bars, provides higher chances to get laid. Just be cool, act normal, be ready to buy few drinks. Do not invite to "your hotel". That pisses girls off as they feel like prostitutes. Invite them to "your home" which may well be your room in the hotel. It's the semantics that makes the difference. My two cents.

I'm with you 100% there, Mattador. I wasted a lot of time on mamba and came up with essentially nothing. In the end, I find it's much easier to chat up a girl in a club. And then you at least know (Wonderbra and beer goggles aside) more-or-less what you're getting.

I found pros and semi-pros working apparently on their own (When I say semi-pro, I mean a girl that have a regular job and is escorting on a regular basis).

For me it was fun to chase them on mamba and to meet them in their home or in a small apartment in the suburbs. I found several ones that were really worth the time spend on mamba, I even plan to visit them on my next trip to Moscow.

Moscow- worst. Many, many prostitutes. That's not a bad thing per se, but since many are fronting for salons or using false advertising, not so cool. The freebie type are often serial surfers, meaning they just enjoy the attention and chit-chat and are only vaguely interested in meeting. A waste of time, especially since I have lost the nerve to do the serial dating thing. It produced a lot of freebie (relatively speaking) sex, but was boring with time. Clubs or street game are more fun.

Kiev- best. Lot's of freebies and cheap $50-70/hour pros that come to your apartment.

Odessa- terrible. Crawling with haggard and cold pros.

St.Petersburg- average. Met some good freebies (another one as recently as 2 weeks ago) as well as good pros there. Some false advertising, but well within parameters.

Regional cities- average. Often the best way to get first contact in a new city.

Bear in mind this is talking about the 18-25 girls. I imagine the countless 30+ crowd is more available and will be mostly true freebies just looking for some light in their lives. Not been my thing yet though among Russian girls. ))

This report is about my visit to Charmel few months ago (sorry for the delay).

There is nothing automatic about clubbing or picking up freebies.

A couple of hints however:

11-12 pm is too early for any club. You can usually only tell about 1.30 am if a club has potential.

It also helps that by 1.30-2 am your drink starts setting in and 6s become 7s, 7s become 8s and 8s becoming smoking hot sexbombs.

I have no idea if Karma is any good, haven't been there in a long time.

Che is a good place to pick up chicks and there is usually action there, however most girls run in the 6-7 category. They purposely keep the young kids 18-21 out of there and try catering to a more monied crowd. Still, it is one of the best clubs in Moscow in terms of having a good time. My only major beef there is that it is very well known on the expat circuit, lots of them. The good thing is most of them go home by 2am... just when the party there gets started. :))
