I'm looking for your recomendations.
Livingstone is a bit cheaper and they have breakfast but the palace seems to be nicer and better location.
Living stone seems to have a sports bar with pros already there.
However I've never been and I'm looking for your recommendations.
Is presidential palace girl friendly. Livinstone is.
Thanks
PP is a Compass managed hotel. They are all GF. I have stayed at PP 20 times. I highly recommend it for quality and location.

Not Gf hotels.
Instead of telling new posters they shout rtf themself why can not someone or the administrator every week pop out a list automaticaly with not Gf hotels in BKK (I guess that list would be shorter than the opposite). I have businessfriends staying in rather upscale places as Lempinski, sheraton, lebua, intercontinental, hyatt and such but never ever do they have trouble bringing company to their room. Most upscale venues even have lists of elite escort willing to assist all your needs. Some even have freelancejoints in their basements, hehe. A hotel in BKK know why people come (mostly business and pleasure).
And in my book as long as I stay in room and order it for 2 persons then they have to tell me why I can not bring a guest to my room as I stay alone (I have never ever had any trouble). Maby there are some typical familyresorts in BKK (but doulbt it) then I can understand. As I know a lot of chartertouristic places as in Krabi and Phuket area (beachresorts catering an all inclusive crowd). Staying alone in a hotel like this would first of all stigma you in bad way and second then I would understand if they would leave out the worst prostitutes entering together with all families vacationing there. Third the walk of shame would be tremendous as chances I wouldnrun into my neighbours family would be large. And then we talk big shame.

Different Marriot?
I have got a great deal at this hotel for 50% discount on the price but is this a good hotel if I'm only in Bangkok for the girls?
I'd like to have walking distance to some of the good places but this maybe is a bit to far up the road?

Thanks
You are comparing Apples to Oranges. PP is a large commercial hotel whereas Livingstone is a small boutique hotel. Both has it's advantages and disadvantages.
With LL you get a personalized service by the owner and staff. Where else would a hotel owner take you around for a "nightlife in BKK run". So it depends on your perspectives.
I'd like to have walking distance to some of the good places but this maybe is a bit to far up the road?
It's near BTS station Thonglor, so Tulip is just around the corner and within a 2 minute skytrain ride you are at Mango Massage, and 3 more minutes with skytrain then you are already at Asoke from where it's easy to get to Soi Cowboy. And 2 more minutes to you are BTS station Nana

I have stayed elsewhere (not of my own volition) and always regret
Missing the all day breakfast.
The Lodge has had a much needed up-grade. I regret the demise of the 'cook shop' on the edge of Soi 33 but I am told guests prefer the more comprehensive menu.
The Sports Bar can be hit and miss. But so can any bar. But watch the hefty bar fine.

Book Early?
I've heard stories were people don't book in advance just get a taxi from airport and head to hotel of your liking and you will get a better price per night than booking online or in advance. Is this true?

Asoke
Any experience at the asoke hotel? They currently have a special on expedia.

Yes and No!
I've heard stories were people don't book in advance just get a taxi from airport and head to hotel of your liking and you will get a better price per night than booking online or in advance. Is this true?
It all depends. You may or may not get the rack (bottom) rate depending on how ull the hotel is.
Look at it sensibly. You have been on an aircraft for 10-12 hours, you have waited an hour to go through immigration and get your luggage, you get in a taxi.
And get in a hassle over the use of the meter, you are stuck in traffic for an hour and you still want to wander round Bangkok trying to get a cheap deal. To save $10.
Get organized. Book a hotel you can afford for one or two nights and then look around.
Better still don't come to Bangkok if you are so concerned with getting the cheap (set) hotel room. Could be non-GFand you will end up paying Baht500+ for a joiner fee.
Any experience at the asoke hotel? They currently have a special on expedia.
I think we need a bit more detail.
Do you mean the Asoke Residence?
There are loads of good hotels in the Asoke area with specials, some are closer to the action than the Asoke Residence. It all depends on what you budget / requirememts are.

This is Dream Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 15. Good choice and only 1725 baht on their cheapest rate (name hidden under the Wotif special but this is Dream). Obviously girl friendly.
-
If you fancy something down the other end of Sukhumvit, SKYY hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 1 is ok. Right next to the Bumrungrad hosptial for "on your doorstep" food choices. Girl friendly and security card lift access. Its cheap and cheerful but fine.
http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hotel=W100614
Only 1799 baht.
-
Pretty much every hotel in BKK is girl friendly. But to be sure ALWAYS book the room for 2 people (no difference in price). Then nobody can ever say you have to pay a joiner fee, should you ever find a hotel that does do this.

Girl friendly hotel list
Hi all,
If your looking for a girl friendly hotel please go to the following link. Many hotels from 1 star to 4 star.

Happy holidays.

If girls are the main reason then this hotel is not the most convenient in Bangkok. While it is very close (walkable) to the Tulip oily massage parlor, and also walkable to the oilies on Soi 24, it is a bit too far to walk to Soi Cowboy and Nana.
Fortunately, the Marriott is very close to the Thonglor BTS station, so Soi Cowboy (Asoke BTS) and Nana (Nana BTS) are only 2 and 3 stops away (I. E. A couple of minutes). If you are OK with that, and if you have ascertained that the hotel is girl friendly (send them an email and ask, all hotels in Bangkok get this question all the time) , then this hotel will work.
