I started following few Insta and FB channels from guys in Sosua posting some random general updates. Some of the recent posts give me an impression that the police presence has gone down considerably and hint of some action returning back to the streets. Any one living there or visited in the last week or two may have to tell if that is the case.

They never really went away but they are back to being pretty obvious. Not like before and certainly they are dressed a little more reservedly- there are still lots of cops but they seem to be letting things go mostly. They are basically useless boys standing around on corners- the immigration goons have been stepping things up and Haitian girls are pretty careful about showing up here in Sosua- we'll see what happens. It could change tomorrow and the PN in Sosua has a new Colonel so who knows. I will say that even at the height of the crackdown you would have to be blind not to be able to find a girl.

I arrived in Santo Domingo yesterday and went to my usual rental place, Nelly / Ace. My car was $217 for one week. The guy tried to upsell me to another car for $15/ day more. I declined. Then he tried to get me for insurance. I told him there was already insurance using my Amex Platinum. Then he tried the windows and tire insurance. I declined that. Then he tried to say there was a mistake with the computer and it did not include some taxes so my total would be $300. I told him bullshit. That he had better get a manager over here. You can clearly see the taxes already included. Then he finally gave in and gave me the paper to pick up the car. I have been renting at this place for about 15 years multiple times per year. Why the fuck can they not see that in the computer before they start to run scams? Always somebody new coming with the bullshit. The old people know to just process the thing and not ask me about anything extra.
I go outside to Claro to add internet to my phone. 215 pesos for 7 days. Then as usual I walk over to the Banco Popular ATM to get some cash. This mfn machine is going to tell me the fee is 4. 5% of the amount I take out. I hit my friend up who works at Banco Popular to ask what the deal was. Her ass is going to tell me to press si. I said bullshit. I am never using that bank's machine again. Then I go over to BanReservas ATM. These bitches want to charge me an 8. 5% exchange fee plus a 300 peso fee for using the machine. When I clicked no, the machine spit out my card then shut down. I posted about it in our group chat and my boy said DR is the Nigeria of the Caribbean. I already had plenty of money from last time, so I just hopped in the car and headed to pick my girl up in Santiago.
Got my girl and we headed for Cabarete. The GPS took us the mountain route which was very scenic. We made it off those mountain roads just as night was falling. We got to the airbnb and dropped our things and went to dinner. Finished at 10 and I asked her what she wanted to do now. As usual, they don't know shit. So I asked if she wanted to drive over to Sosua. She said sure. Got to Sosua and made a lap around the strip in the car then parked to get out and walk the lap. The place was definitely hopping. There are not chicks on the street, but Clasico and MAG and some other bars were hopping. That Rumba Kings was dead empty as was the Hard Rock. There were a few cops out, but they were not doing anything.
We decided to go into the Clasico bar for a drink. We took the first open spot at the bar in front of the door. I asked for a menu, but the bartender said they did not have any but they have everything. I wanted to see some prices; I do not just walk in to places and order shit willy nilly. I asked how much for a Cuba libre and she said 350. I ordered 2 (1 for each of us). I turned to look at my girl and right next to her staring at me was the chick I reported about hitting last time. I am praying that she does not talk to my girl. We got our drinks. I sipped mine and told the bartender that this must be the wrong drink, because I wanted alcohol in mine. She said there was alcohol in it. I said shiiiieeeettt. I noticed the color difference. Mine was dark and my girl's was light. I sipped hers. No damn wonder. They put all the alcohol in her glass and all the coke in my glass. The bartender took my glass to add more rum.
The bar was just like the previous report someone posted. Way more dudes than chicks. But they were separated like a high school dance. Nobody was mingling. I do not go for chicks with fake hair, but there were even plenty of chicks my type. That girl kept fucking starring at me and I would look away. I went over and spoke to a guy that was wearing a t-shirt of my rival college for a few minutes. When I came back that chick was talking to my girl and rubbing on her shoulders like some fatal attraction shit. I saw the ticket booth and asked the bartender about tickets. She said it was for the disco upstairs. She told me tickets are 500 pesos but it is only open on the weekend.
That chick was getting too cozy with my girl, so I asked for the bill. It said Bar Central on top. I asked the bartender what this Bar Central shit was. She said this is the bar in the center. I looked over at the other bars inside the place and asked well what is that bar? She said that is Bar Fondo (The End Bar). We both laughed. I paid and we walked out before that broad said something that I did not want her to say.
I do not know how much the chicks were going for, but from looking in their eyes, I know I can get them down to 2500 or 3000 at the most like IQ says. People say that I am a Sosua hater. No. I just tell the truth. There are plenty of women and the place is poppin. No idea why none of the guys were talking to any of the chicks. And like someone else said recently, as usual in Sosua the bartenders are hotter than the hookers. If I was not with my girl, I would have definitely gotten with one of those bartenders in Clasico or the other bars we passed. We drove back to Cabarete and fucked like rabbits! Tomorrow we are off to Montecristi; might hit the beach in Sosua in the morning before we leave though.

I am no player. I have no game, but I am just not really interested in chicas I don't consider hot. Years ago I had success taking out bartenders / waitresses. I'm a bit slow about it. Recently in Sosua it's been my main thing. Most of the obvious P4 P chicas don't appeal to me. There may be little more courtship and respect involved than asking how much and trying to bid them down since they do have a legitimate job.
I understand that Sosua had a massive flood situation in the last couple of days. Anyone been there recently can confirm if it is OK to travel at this time.
Agreed, but subjective. Depends on how much time and resources at your disposal. Not practical to have so much preferences and still expect to get laid for a short term visitor.
