Bangkok Hotels

i have stayed at both on this trip. haven't been to adelphi for over a year. both service apartments. kitchens, washers, etc.

i would choose phachara. both are good. gf. they are within a 5 minute walk of each other (if you cut thru past [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord901][CodeWord901][/url]'s).

but adelphi is showing a little wear. still nice, but phachara is nicer i think and is about 10 to 15% less price.

ps: if you book phachara do not do it from their site. always higher (sometimes 1000 b) than booking. com or agoda.

I just wanted to post a report about my recent stay at the Ibis Nana.

It is on Soi 4, which is the street that the Nana plaza is on. It is about three blocks distance down the street from it and Sumk road. Soi Cowboy is about 1/4 mile east down Sumk road. Ibis is very close to, if not in Ground Zero for girly fun.

I was happy with the hotel. I paid $60 total for the night (only there for a layover, but have been to BKK before) The rooms are very small, and there are only two types of rooms. From what I remember, they are one double bed or two twins. There are no standard, superior, etc distinctions. I had a one double bed room. I think it only adequate for one person, and barely that. However, the hotel makes up for that with the fact that the hotel is new, only since 2009, and it shows. The hotel still "feels" new. Aircon is strong. The rooms are basic, but clean and satisfying. Ibis, being, a chain, has good service from the front desk. I did not test it, but everyone says it is GF. I can't imagine it not being so, given where it is located.

It is also relatively close to the Makkasan station, Airport Express train. It was my first time riding it, since the last time I was here was 2008. I LOVE that express train! It will save you much time and aggravation.

I will be stopping by BKK again in six months. Despite my happiness with Ibis, I will probably stay a little further down the road on Sumk next time, near Soi Cowboy. The Nana area just has this kind of gross, stinky vibe to it. It's not the smell of sewage. Its a mix of exhaust smoke, and I think, those insects that they like to fry up as snacks (Yuck). Even if the Ibis was clean, the Nana area has a grime to it. I like Soi Cowboy much better. I remember walking to to Soi Cowboy, thinking that BKK was gross and I was never coming back. Then I walked into Baccara and couldn't believe my eyes. The hottest collection of Asian women that I had seen in a long time, maybe ever. Pattaya has more women, but the percentage of hot women I think is higher at Soi Cowboy.

Can anyone recommend a hotel, hopefully with the same price range and quality, a little further down the road near Soi Cowboy?

Also, The food is ridiculously over priced and my experience, not that good.

Walk across the street to Gulliver's or around the corner to Monsoon for a much better meal.

Personally, I think better hotel options in the area.

Why? I think the bed was very uncomfortable, very hard and the pillow was not good. I didn't sleep well. Also because of the noise from other rooms and from the corridor. The walls must be very thin or they don't block noise at all for some reason. I could here people talking in the next room. Not good. Also the internet was not free, had to pay a steep price.

So many better options around.

If you like Cowboy there are many hotels there on that soi 23 for example. Admiral Premier or Citadines. Or in soi 18 Park Plaza.

I am planning to go to BKK for few days. Which hotel is better to stay?

I am sure May is hot month but is it too hot to walk during morning or night?

Both those hotels are nice. The PP is closer to NEP which I prefer, but either hotel is good I think.

Woraburi is good value. Offers free tuktuk every 30 mins to nana plaza.

Good way to keep your nut sack dry and not smelling like sour eggs.

Saved me the hassle of scrubbing up my balls when I brought a girl home.

Regarding the Ibis, yes the bed was firmer than at most hotels, but it was firm because the mattress was the firm type of mattress, not because it was thin or cheap. I always buy firmer mattresses for my home, so I liked that. In terms of the thin walls, I guess I got lucky that no one was next to me. Funny though, during my stay, they gave me a 5 day free pass for wi fi in the room. It was really slow though, only 1 Mbps, not much faster than dial up. It was pretty much good enough only for checking email. Luckily, my stay was short, so this wasn't an issue for me.
