The whole purpose was not to pay foreigner price for the ticket. In other words he wanted to save money. He got around this by having a local purchase the ticket online.
Had he bought the ticket online himself without a CPF, he would have paid the foreigner price. Had he gone to the ticket office he would have had to pay for transportation to and from, in-person surcharge, and he would have still been paying the foreigner price because he did not have a CPF!

When I arrived in Rio, I went to the varig office and booked the same fucking flight for like 150 reais! Price gouging is real for gringos.
Side note: I have used Google flights to book buy tickets from SP to Rio and as long as you buy 3-4 weeks in advance, the price is really cheap. (Around 100 bucks). If you get off the plane in SP, walk upstairs and try to buy the next plane headed to Rio, it can cost you between 4-500 dollars.

Flights to Navegantes are always more expensive than most destinations with the same distance. Few months ago I paid 96 euros for my GOL Max return ticket to Belo Horizonte. I paid less than hundred euros to Curitiba in November, also GOL Max, which is more expensive than light or plus.

So I arrived in Rio few days ago.
Its my first time here. I'm from Germany, Little bit Spanish knowledge, but no Porto. So let me tell some first impressions:
The first 2 days I just did the typical sightseeing (Sugar Loaf, Christo de Redeemer, Fort Copacabana. Etc.
I had my apartment at Copacabana booked via Booking com, large 1 bed room for low price, what I think is so, because of low season (9 days per day 20 $).
Tuesday I checked the typical spots, which have been here spoken, often: Mabs, Kalabria, Dolce Vita.
Started at 10:00 pm At at Mabs. With the passage of time more and more girls showed around, about 5 girls from beginning till 7 girls when I left.
Checked kalbria around at midnight, about 6-7 Girls there.
And looked at Dolce Vita at 0:30 ,which was already well visited with some foreign guys and plenty 10 girls. T.
There I had a eye on a slim tall dark skinned chick, named Ravena, agreed for 2 hours, 1000 Reais, and we left at 2 am.
It was good session, no time pressure, she was kind, enjoyed the time, too.
Wednesday wanted have termas day, Started with centarus at 7 pm.
Entry 140 Reais, About 7 girls when I entered and maybe 10 when I left at 9:30 pm.
Some girls was little bit to aggressive for my taste. Some looked not much interested.
Did not find a chick for my taste, so headed to next ome: Solarium at 10 pm.
Entry 120 Reais when you pay cash, 150 Reais which card.
Prices 40 minutes: 340 for girl + 150 for the room.

So I guess I will start the evening at some bars at Lapa, then head to VM and later Mosaico after 0 pm.
Maybe you have some better advice for Friday, Saturday clubs scene.

I will say that as long as the exchange rate stays above 5. 00 the "party" will most definitely continue for those of us who enjoy the forbidden fruits of Brasil.
We've all noticed the late volatility of the exchange rate. I believe it got as low as 4.65 just a few short months ago. Let's hope the trend continues with the BRL losing ground against the usd. Giving us tourists More money to pump (with every pelvic thrust) into the local economy is a good thing!

Just to mention this year is elections for president and congress men in Brasil. The favorite to win is leftist PT (Partido dos Trabalhadores) com Lula heading.
Feminist groups and LGTBQI++++ are not so strong in Brasil but working 24/7. At the moment, they are not as strong as in Argentina, where even Bikini Contests are forbidden. Beautiful promotional models at events are almost history, now they must wear very conservative uniforms. There will be tax reforms in Brasil and they may have strong impact on local economy. Good or bad? I don't now, 2022 world is very different from the 2010.2010 the exchange rate was crazy high are $1.8 = 1 USD.

Brazil was the first country of South America to join the allies during WWII. Their armed forces have long strong relations with occident countries. Only strong industry, including car, aerospace and now nuclear subs, keep them away from not western countries. They are so strong, that they had the political strength to impeach Dilma Roussef in 2016. So, the next years will be very important for this balance. Hope it's not broken.
