Latrell2,
B500 for half a day isn't bad at all. Not many boatdrivers will take less. For comparison, have a look at this photo taken in Ao Nang (near Krabi).

Hi guys,
is there any nice 4-5- star resorts or hotels or smaller places with nice rooms and apool with a guest friendly attitude? Tried Holiday inn before, great hotel (especially the busakorn wing), but not girl friendly policy.
Last year I stayed in Thara, they started charging for girls from November onwards. Did they go back for the low season?
At the end of Bangla, directly behind Tai.Pan they built a new hotel. Is it ready and friendly?
Any other recommendations??

P.S. anybody around second half of May for a beer?
Michi,
You've got 1 or 2 posts that offer info to others, so I suppose you're not totally bad. However, re your last post: RTFF!! The same question was posted, and answered on this same page!
PNG,
OK, sorry for that, I was not around the forum for a while, so did not read too much.
... maybe I lost the connection a bit and wanted to cut the reading time.
... will improve and also share a lot of info after the upcoming trip,
Mike
...btw.: one of the nicest racks in Phuket is Nut from Hard Rock, I am dying to come back to see her, even if the place is expensive!!
Michi,
When you book a room, and as well when you check, in ask for a double room and tell that it be two persons are staying in the room. I usually book the room for two, if they ask where my partner/wife is when I check in I tell them that I have not found her yet, but she is coming tonight!
That way I usually never pay extra for "guests" at my room, even at hotels like Tara Patong, or other hotels that usually charge extra for that.
I will be back in Phuket by that time, if you want to go an grab a beer one night.
Hi,
I just got an email from Thara, they would wave the joiner fee in low season, but the girl has to be regiustered or leave the ID.
Beside Salathai is better: the emmail sais: No problem, but if you bring two at once, we have to charghe the breakfast!.
Will go there!!

Help!
What is the best all round hotel or resort to stay in Phuket. I am bring a Business friend with me ( friend in business, who is a Thai Girl) for a long weekend of fun. Her parents own one of the business I do business with in Bangkok and we are looking to go to Phuket for some fun. Not concern about the local action. Just looking for a nice place to stay for some fun both in and out of the bedroom. Not to concern about the price, just a great place to have a honeymoon type of experence with a friend.
JimHart, a honeymoon ?!?!?
congratulations, none of us here even knew you were thinking of getting married :-)
JimHart69,
Does it have to be Phuket?
For the right honeymoonsetting there is no better place than the Premier Resort Krabi aka Rayavadee Spa near Ao Nang, Krabi province.
You can have a nice room from around the discounted rate of just B18,000.
Think about it!
Thought: 'My wife and I were happy for 30 years. Then we met.'
Jim Hart, since Freeler is throwing out other ideas, go to a great place near Hua Hin www.aleenta.com. 120$ / night, private swimming pool, on the beach.
You and the "wife" will have a great time.
I did say anything about getting married! I just want the honeymoon!!! This is the only way to have a honeymoon, because when it is over, there is no commitments. Just next!

Long time no talk.
Phuket is easier to get in and out of then Ao Nang, Krabi province. I would actual like to find something closer to Bangkok, but not Pattaya. Good Hotels and Beaches.
Phuket is a hour by plane. I have no ideas, outside of Phuket. B18,000 was little more then I want to pay per day. I have found some great places in Phuket from B3500 to B8000 a day with SPA services.
Remember that Air Asia has some real nice rates to Phuket. With the money you save on the ticket (Only 1000 baht RT, plus taxes), you can get a nice honeymoon suite.
Regarding the best place to stay in Phuket, I'd say it is without a doubt Avantika. Price is closer to the 8,000 baht price. Hotel is about 1 year old, run by a young guy who studied in the states. If you go, tell him Mike's friend sent you. You have to ask him on where to go for night life, he is a good guide too!
There is a web site but not sure if I can post it here so I'd suggest searching for Avantika Phuket on google to see if you can find it.
Enjoy. Congratulations on the wedding!
JimHart,
I can recommend the Holiday Inn, but the luxury wing only. It is called Busakorn and has great rooms, or even villas with own pool access. Nothing for mongering as the give you a lot of trouble if you bring a girl for the night, but great if you bring your own food!!!!
Try it,
Mike

HuaHin is not a bad idea at all, 1ball!
The Hilton is centrally located as is the Hotel Sofitel Central Hua Hin (from "TheKillingFields' movie).
HuaHin has a little scene, but is also family oriented, perfect for Jim and the wife!
