Hey guys,

Lots of information here, and I appreciate all the contributions. I have read what's been posted, but have some specific questions about hotels.

First of all, are there any love motels in the "Metro Centro" area? I am thinking about staying at El Almendro (not guest friendly), and therefore would need to use a love motel for take homes. And are they safe?

Or, would I really just be better off at Casa Real? How does it compare to El Almendro? I would like a decent hotel that's safe (but I do like guest-friendliness as well, being used to Brazil).

I stayed at Casa Real in March 2006 and it was totally chica friendly at that time. Have you read something on this thread that indicates that this is no longer the case? I was very happy with Casa Real: not luxurious, but a large, comfortable room at a reasonable price, friendly staff, breakfast included. Recommended.

Thanks for the reply. No, I am under the impression that Casa Real is guest friendly. But I'm wondering if I'd just be better off staying at Almendro and using motels for takeout. As I mentioned, I'd like to stay in a relatively nice place, but if someone can say that Casa Real is comparable to the others (how is the Conquistador, BTW?), then I will likely stay there.

The Casa Real is a really nice hotel. Small and no pool but no problem with guests and if not overnight, no charge either. Love Motels are called Auto Hotels and there are 3 sort of close ones - Fantasia (the best) past Plaza Inter, Km 10 1/2 located not surprisingly at Km 10 1/2 C. Masaya and Salamandra in barrio Hugo Chavez, a bit of a risky area. If you have a driver who will wait or come back it is fine, not a great place to come out of and hail a taxi though and it is 1/2 way to the airport.

There are others - Almendo on C. Sur and a new one near Ciudad Sandino both too far for practicality.

You will see a few others but they are truly unairconditioned dives.

An autohotel will be anywhere from C$220 to C$350 for a plain one to US$35 for the VIP at Fantasia, worth it with the right girl as it is two levels, has a jacuzzi, shower, round bed, robes, etc.

Since the Casa Real is well located and only $20 a night more than Almendro you will do just as well there than $15-$20 a time at an Auto Hotel.

For reasonable prices and guest friendly within reason El Conquistador is a great place. Hot breakfast included, a bar and free internet. The new 1/2 is pretty nice and very new. They are terrible with reservations, so in person is best as e-mail with them is very hit and miss.

I Need some real info. How is Nic or Honduras when it comes to talking to girls in the city and regular discos. I really do not like ***** houses. I am A perfect spanish speaker. Matrix and other discos have girls looking for rich guys. Expect them to want the champagne and the non-local rum drinks, and the like but if you can do it in Peru you can do it in Managua.

The part about them going back to the room will be nearly impossible without staying at one of the two places that won't have a hassle, e.g. Conquistador and Casa Real (the latter raises the price $10 for a double from $65 to $75).

Hey fellas, I just found out about this site and wanted to really let you know what Managua is about:

First and foremost, the going rate for any place non-tourist is C$150 (US $8) for 30-minutes or C$300 - $400 (US $16 - $22) for 1-hour, regardless of Spanish-skills or not. Tourists get hit for US $50 - 100 and on a credit card if you look green.

Second, just about every 2 or 3 blocks has a house on it with action for sale. They usually have the Tona banner on display outside.

Third, the tourist-traps near Metro Centro are exactly that. If you don't mind being treated as a mark then I suggest one stay in that area.

Carr. Masaya is nothing but street-walkers and in Managua there is no need to use a street-walker. Every 3 blocks has a house selling the goods and in every neighborhood. Street-walkers aren't in a controlled environment and therefore treat you as a passer-by whereas in a controlled location they value you as a return customer.

You can hire a girl to be your employee, exclusive, and serve your needs up to 8 hours per day, 5 days per week for C$1,500 (US $80) per month if you speak Spanish. If you speak English offer her C$3,000 (US $165.) Everyone you proposition will jump on-board. I personally pay my two girls C$3,000 because they have never made that much money and will become addicted to the money versus the boredom of turning tricks.

Furthermore, you can offer anyone the above salaries and they will get on-board. For me, I just run an add in the paper for US $15 per week and interview my potential employees.

I'll tell you at another date where the best locations are of all variances!

Managua is not an easy place to talk to girls on the street or at least that's my experience. When I compare this city to the cities of Mexico and how I would meet 3. 5 girls per day, it's shocking. Of course, using the friendship network is always the best, but if someone isn't introducing you to their female friends then good luck. I too speak perfect Spanish.

Nonetheless, there are plenty of girls outside all day since not many work, but they're rather challenging to receive a response. I would be leery of a girl's intention (money or citizenship motive) if you she responds too quickly or solicits your intention. Regular discos simply are groups of friends, male and female, that are out together drinking and dancing. Finding your opportunity to speak with a girl at a table of 5 or more people requires skill.

The malls, Metro Centro or Plaza Las Americas, might work if you have some recent purchases in your hands. Then again, girls do just hang out at the mall so that may work for you. I personally like universities.

Forget the idea of meeting a girl and taking her to the hotel within 2 hours without money, food, or taxi fare being exchanged! You'll also get real tired of coming out pocket everytime you visit with a Chica Nica. I hate to say it, but Managua is a money-hungry town and if you're not from here then everyone is going to try and get money from you even regular girls. It's common knowledge the amount of ***** houses in the city so the girls know that their love / companionship carries a value.

due to a pack of assholes running a brothel with well **** girls and a larger bunch of assholes actually patronizing the casa, the police arrested those involved and then the politicos banned ads in the classifieds for casas on the 8th of august going forward.

so there will either have to be more clever ads for bars or hospedajes or people will rely more on word of mouth. or you can go to any building in residential barrios with a beer banner ask there per the advice above.

several new casas opened, two with nearly the same name, the first "vip" telling us they had the added advantage of cctv on the premises and would not quote price on the phone. since i am sure everyone wants to be on cctv in a cathouse, you can bet we didn't bother to see what it was like. the other vip which will soon be called nefertitis was great, clean , cheap and lots of the bigger boobed gals.

a new pricing scheme from luman (dodgy barrio) 150 for massage and oral, 300 for massage and total sex and 400 for all plus anal. never seen it promoted that way before. no chance to go in to see who's anal region was being offered up.

the apagones (power outages) are becoming a fact of life - disnorte and dissur now have to post a weekly list of times and barrios that are having shutdowns. they run 7-2 p.m, 2-6 or 2-7p.m. and 5-10 or 6-10 p.m. and rotate weekly. some commercial areas are not as affected as residential but you should consider finding a hotel with a generator which pretty much limits it to teolinda or conquistador.

2.) For lame-people with no communication or street skills they could offend themselves. I'm referring to those people that know how to manage themselves on the street and in various environments through personality. Those of us with GAME! Walking into any neighborhood bar, drinking one beer, and talking with the other patrons will put you on as to where the neighborhood spot is. Proof Positive. Then again, most of the time the waitress will express interest in your foreign citizenship, which may lead to romantic endeavors.

If a person wants money for today due to desperation and no marketable skills, they may choose prostitution. Working in la zona franca 6 days per week, 8 hours per day is hard-word. Nobody wants to do that. Working in my house watching tv, eating food, enjoying aire conditioning, and giving me sex 3 times per shift is easy work. And more lucrative. All of my foreign friends have employees too and at the same or less salary, guaranteed, every Friday, see$ 750. Once again, this is the Real Managua. Yes, I did try to post my distinction ‘cause this information needs to be known for novices like yourself. Placing an ad in the newspaper can discuss whatever service you choose, because when the applicant arrives you’re going to be discussing sex. I personally take my employees from the brothels and strip clubs I frequent. Preferably within their first week of employment or after we’ve developed a friendship and I’ve witnessed them making no money. The owners of these institutions still recieve my patronage and no turf wars arise.

Grand Pollo, it sounds like you know a little bit about paying for it, but not much about the game itself. That’s understandable if you’ve never had management experience in these institutions, but remember it’s a psychological-game with conversation and listening being first and money transfers being second. Far too many times guys incorrectly think the opposite. Prostitutes have feelings too!

Have just returned from Nicaragua where I spent most of my time on business in Managua. Here are my obsevations to be taken in the context that it is my 4th trip and I am 48, in good shape but with very limited spanish skills and staying at one of the international hotels. In addition it was some saints holiday and the town was really partying.

Basically I had no problems finding willing females for what I considered a reasonable price but for which I will be probably be roundly criticized for paying, but I don't really worry too much about the money so long as I don't feel I am getting really ripped off.

Matrix. This was my favourite hang out. I had two different young ladies on different nights at a cost of $50 for all night session. I would rate them 7's. Finishing at Matrix at about 3 am leaving hotel next day at about noon. Both eager to please , could do them as much as you wanted. There were many avaliable girls here which seemed to me to range from the pro, semi pro to good time girls. I don't really mind paying for drinks but am not extragent and both were content with some beers (at the cost of about $1 each if my memory serves me). If I had good spanish I think I would have managed even just regular girls.

Chamin (not sure if spelling correct) down side road by Intercontinental. Great time here it was packed but seemed more regular student type of crowd. I spent a fun evening hanging out with a group but had no luck getting anywhere. I think it may have been possible if I had spanish skills.

Hippa Hippa. Closed for renevation

Moods. Did not really like it. seemed like it was inhabited by young richer crowd. Did not even get close to anything.

Next block to Moods there are two bars upstairs where I had a fun time on two different nights. I managed to get one girl to come back to hotel for the night and had a decent time but not so much enthusiam as the ones from Matrix. Same price for all night.

There is a row of bars behind the HSBC building at which quite a few girls hang out. They all seemed like regular girls but at the Bar next to Hippas I met a girl (well woman about 30) who would definitely have come back but I had to get up early to catch flight so passed.

Hotel. I had no problem bringing them back and this was international hotel. On two nights they just had to hand their ID to the desk no problem ( and pick it up when they left) and on the other night they charged me an additional $25 for my room rate. Go figure. I had one come in the day and they did not ask her for ID then.

Fenix. This is a great institution but will probably be compeltely off putting to many, and the rooms are petty grungy. The price is standard even for us obvious foreigners. $11 for half hour and $22 hour (2oo and 400 cords). I found most of the *****s to be in the 5-6 range and the number varied on day and time. It is meant to be open 24 hours and I know it was open at least from 1 pm to 3 am. It is not the cleanest, the *****s can't speak english but I found them to be fun and pleasant. I visited it 4 times. And there is always a diamond in the rough and I found a solid 8, age 20 and enthusiatic (suprising given their life) but was leaving next day so only saw her once. This is a very cost effective way to spend the evening (even the drinks ony $2). However check the taxi rates back to your hotel as this was the only rip off I found by coming here.
