Greetings Gentlemen,
I visited a few of the so called Artist bars on Soi 33 recently and was wondering if anyone had any experience taking a girl out for the night - and at what cost?
...
Thwaites,
I live here in Soi 33, Livingstone's Lodge...in case you have a question... :) .
Barfines: THB 800 - THB 2,500 (Renoir, Mamasan)
ST: the girls will quote THB 1,500 - THB 4,000, you can negotiate THB 1,000 (late) to THB 2,000
LT: the girls will quote THB 2,000 - THB 6,000 (or even more), you can negotiate THB 2,000 (late) to THB 4,000

Renoir and Mamasan are at 2,500 baht? Learn something new everyday.
Most of the barfines that I paid or was quoted was around 1,500 baht. Some a little more and some a little less. Were Renoir and Mamasan always that expensive or did it just go up in the last year or so?
Thanks,

No, misunderstanding, if you barfine a mamasan from Renoir --> THB 2,500 . Please, don't ask me why. And don't go there to check out the mamasans. you will be shocked. The price is obviously connected to their weights.
Normal barfine in Renoir is THB 1,500.

PS:
There is no bar here in the road named "Mamasan". A mamasan is ... yikes, how to define, the boss of the girls reg. the ladies issues, if you understand what I mean --- something like the profos for slaves (I will be hanged for that, I know :) ).

Giotto,
LOL! Now I understand! Funny .. and here I thought there was a new bar there on Soi 33 and some of the barfines got jacked up!
No need to explain the concept of "Mamasan". It's actually "Mama-san", with it's roots I believe based in Japan and it's definitely an Asian based term. The bars in Hawaii all have their Mama-san's and we have more hostess bars and Asian Massage parlors (AMP's) than any other U.S. city. All the girls report and answer to the Mama-san's.
Thanks,

Livingstone bar
After dinner things were picking up at Livingstone's bar but I needed cash, so I headed out to Sukhumvit in search of an ATM.
I will stay at Livingstone's in 2 weeks. How are the girls at Livingstone's bar. Do you have a good choice? Do you have to barfine them too. How much is barfne and a ST or LT. Are they as expensive as in some other bars mentioned in this thread or same price as other bargirls in town?

Hot Lover,
Check under the Asia / Thailand - Giotto's thread. It has all the info you will need and probably a link to his website.

Livingstones info
Hotlover, I found the selection at Livingstones to be very good. Last night they all looked especially lovely in black outfits. I sat with a very hot girl named Aom for quite awhile, cuddling and letting her feed me snacks, before barfining her for 1,000 baht. She spent the night and we did not discuss money. I gave her 2,000 baht this morning when she left.
Earlier in the evening I hit a parade of the artist-themed bars and got lots of hand, arm and shoulder massages before returning to Livingstone's. When I walked into Goya I was the only customer and was just about bowled over by the "Sawadee-khraaaaaaaaaaa" chorus. The other bars were much more busy. I was greatly tempted but ultimately was glad I returned to the hotel.

Your questions:
"Good choice" - that depends. We have 45 girls working here at the moment, usually 25 - 30 are there every day. And then it depends on your taste. If you find somebody here - fine, otherwise you look somewhere else.
Yes, they have to be bar fined here too, there are no integrated room/girl prices.
The prices for the road are mentioned in a report below, the road is not cheap. There are areas where you can find cheaper service - it depends on what you want.

Billpsu,
Barfine is 600 baht and 2,000 baht ST / 3,000 baht LT. Of course the ST/LT rates are negotiable and depend on the girl. Some ask for more and some will accept less.

ST/LT 2000/3000 are asking prices for Soi 33, and often 1500/2000-2500 are easily available. I would start at 1000/1500 for soi cowboy, this is very reasonable and fair. Haven't taken out of Nana recently so can't help with that.
