Possible BRL weakness
My suspicion is that a Lula win would knock USD / BRL up to 6, and a Bolsonaro contested result (Jan 6 style) up to 6. 3 leveling off back to support at 6.
Popcorn ready.
My suspicion is that a Lula win would knock USD / BRL up to 6............
The Brazilian Real weakened significantly leading up to Lula's election in October 2002. It hit a low weeks before the election. It strengthened almost nonstop after the 2002 election.
My point is that it's hard to predict how the currency market will react to events. Lula's chances are already priced in and the market often overreacts in advance of an event. Hence, the adage "buy on the rumor, sell on the news".
I agree with you a contested election would be bad for the Real in the short-run. On the other hand, a peaceful transition might be good for the Brazilian Real.

Don't we want to be bad asses? Or was that the Nação Rubro-Negra? I always get this mixed up.

What I heard was that the expectation is that now each candidate is going to pivot towards the center to appeal to more moderate voters, which the market likes.
I cannot explain the recent relative strength of the BRL aside from a commodity driven economy that's benefiting from war in Ukraine and global inflation. Maybe that's enough.
Still, support lines suggest a cross over 6 USD at some point.

Stupidy kills
Impressive how stupid some tourists act. A Canadian tourist at Cataratas do Iguaçyou wanted to take a cool selfie at the waterfalls. He climbed the wet handrail and fell down. Of couse he died.

A bit old news. The vaccination requirement to enter Brazil is gone, just a covidtest for not vaccinated travellers. Those of us who are vaccinated need no covidtest.

Hello fellow Brazil lovers, what impact would Lula's victory have on mongering in Brazil?
-
Old Polititians love escorts, left and right.
New politicians, like the feminists. They will be very active and will want to ban the scene.
So I guess there won't be big changes, not so fast at least.

Tubarão
Hi I will be in this city for 5 days. I was wondering what's the best site to find women in smaller cities. For example what's the best escort site. I will explore the city but any information will help. Thanks I'm advance!
