Granted, I've been out of the game for a little while, but my rule of thumb for the last few years has been to aim for no more 1200 LT, and say good tip if service is good - tipping enough to take it up to 2000 if they are really good (normally I'll go to 1600 if they are reasonably good).

I don't do much ST. Do note that 1000 seems to be enough for LT for girls off the street - once more, a tip of 500 or so if they are good.

If I payed 3000 I'd feel like I was getting really ripped off and wouldn't enjoy myself.

Just stick to your guns and 9 times out of 10 you'll get agreement for these prices.

Do note that once you've gone to a place and set 'your price' it seems to be a lot less hassle on subsequent visits.

I think it is important that you do not contribute to the upward pricing spiral. I know this has been debated endlessly and others have different points of view, but I view overpaying as akin to littering in an eyewateringly pristine national park. It provides a short term benefit to you, but it damages the environment for all that follow you. People can claim it is none of my business how they spend their money, but they could also claim that it is none of my business when rhinos in Africa are shot - on one level they are right, but overypaying is an egregious violation of the social contract between all of us farangs. It is selfish and in the long run hurts not only yourself, but all hobbyists.

Haha... got carried away there and I am sure the original poster was offering honest advice, not suggesting you are overpaying... I'm looking sternly over my glasses at the overpayers - you know who you are!

Like I said, the prices are negotiable and yes, those are asking prices. The prices I quoted are more applicable to the better looking Nana girls. Soi Cowboy is generally cheaper and you can find girls in Nana who will take less. Each girl has a good idea of what they are worth on the market. You can figure that out pretty quickly. And by all means bargain. That's BKK. I have had those that don't talk about money at all, not even in the morning and they happily accept what I gave them.

Keep in mind, many of the hotter looking girls will not accept less. They know what they can get and what their market value is. It's your choice if you want to walk away or not. You will pay a premium for looks in general. You will probably not get a looker for 1, 000 baht, unless you are Brad Pitt or are a longtime friend with some history. I have seen 1, 000 baht girls often enough and I generally pass, unless they have an outstanding personality.

Billpsu is a PI veteran, so I'm sure he'll figure it out. Everthing in the PI is negotiable as well.

Blunderer. I hear what you are saying, but there's a big difference between shooting Rhino's in Africa and paying what you want to pay. There are some things in life that are flat out wrong, real travesties. Overpaying is not one of them. Better to focus one's life on fixing the real travesties.

If you are going to complain about what someone pays, then you need to do it across the board. E. G. Hotels, cars, homes, food, plane fare, other entertainment (sports, movies, etc.). And you need to do it yourself, with friends and family first, or it holds no water. Have you lectured them for buying more than a compact car, staying at more than an economy hotel, never paying for Business or First Class airfare, never paying more for staying in a better neighborhood? How many times have you walked away from taking a trip, because you thought the airfare was too high? What percentage? For me, none. What happens in reality, is that millions of people determine what the going rate is and nothing will stop that.

I know you were only taking time out to get on your soapbox. Understood. I do feel for those, who feel that prices in BKK are getting away from them. Unfortunately, stopping people from paying what they want to pay, is like trying to stop the flow of information on the internet. Can't be done. At least not without some catastrophic event.

Besides, debating price is useless without having the girl in front of you, to determine what the hell it is you are debating about! LOL! Makes about as much sense as debating on the price of a car, without knowing which car we are talking about.

As a point of reference, 99% of the girls in the photo gallery are in the 1, 000 baht or less category for me. There are many that are in the "They better be paying me" category. I can recall seeing only one or two in that thread that I would barfine. But that's not to say they are bad. Just not to my taste.

From my experience I would say in CM2 (Novotel opposite Paragon) you might find at least more beautiful and educated girls. It's not sure that they deliver a better service. Imho you can expect a better service from the ugly girls.;-)

I know many girls from Beer garden and Gulliver who go to CM2 around 11.00 PM or so, if they have not been successful by then. And most here shun girls from these establishment. Personally, I agree that a non stunner delivers better service. it just makes sense they should try harder, as they might not land another trick the next night. However, if they just blow you away, you might come back for more. A stunner doesn't give a shit if she pleases you, as she is pretty sure to find another guy the next night. (or an hour later).

Thank you all, I now have a stable point of referance.

Last time I was in Thailand I booked my flight from BKK to Chiang Mai in advance. However, a lot of people say to wait until you arrive for booking intra country flights. This time I want to fly from BKK to Chiang Mai. Stay a few days and then book a flight to Udon or Ubon for a few days. Then back to BKK. Then from BKK to Phuket for a few days round trip. All in November.

Do you think it's necessary to book these intra-country flights in advance or can I wait until I get to Thailand to book them? I saw a post where one guy said he got stranded in Chiang Mai for 8 days because he couldn't get a flight out! I certainly could wait a few hours or maybe a day, but I certainly wouldn't want to get stranded for a few days. My time is precious. What do you think?

I visit BKK often due to my work. I've posted my experience with Eden club a few weeks ago, but still have one more experience from April07. I was not a member here then.

A business associate took 3 of my colleagues and I to Club Pent, as a special treat. It was obviously for members only and we were seated in some sort of VIP section. (He was a member and apparently quite a regular) We were introduced to a young, very hot looking Fern, the manager.

While Fern (the perfect hostess) ordered us our bottle of chivas, she took us around to see the club. Pretty big, loud DJ and lots of dancing people. Soon we entered a small room full of young, very pretty girls.

"Choose" said she. I did. Pretty young thing, did not look like a professional by far. Very very well dressed. So there we were, at what looked like a rich man’s club, with 3 women in our laps, each stunners, each beautiful and quite caring.

The girls joined us in fun and games and drank with us, typical thai style.

We danced the night away, on the floor. There were some really HOTTT go-gos, pretty hands off. When the club finally closed down, there were too many people. Very few tourists like us though. Soup was on the house, but it looked like sex was not.

At closing she hurriedly whispered that she’d like to go home with me, but I’d have to wait, outside the club. Hmmmm, would I?

You know how it is. You’re ready to wait upside down in the centre of times square, completely naked with pink frills on your testicles for pussy like that.

We said goodbyes and left, fern came out with us and hugged and kissed all of us. Asked us to return. She was a perfect hostess. Besides, that night our bill was 14000B, they loved us, truly. (Mind you, I know that’s very expensive, but for a night of that quality, it was worth it, between 3 people)

I waited outside with my colleagues. Ea came out 15 minutes later, alone. I stepped out and spoke to her. She looked even more beautiful outside the club. Ah, but when a stunner does provide good service, that is hard to beat. But unfortunately you are correct in your observation. Girls that are good looking will often only rely on their looks for customers.

The girls in Patpong - specially the ones in the first GO-Go bar - I think its Kings 1 - on the left coming from the silom st side, has some nice looking girls( not LBs). There are 2 distict class of gorls dancing there. One seems to be the model type and the other the general NaNa type. Since I usually have them for LT, the price I pay is 3000B.

I think that advice is outdated in this day and age of computerized reservation systems that automatically raise the price as you approach the travel date.
