I know democrats support communism and think sanctions against communism are wrong. But most countries in the world do not support communism.

We wanted the border between Texas and Mexico to be the Rio Grande instead of the Nueces river. Mostly a pretext to land grab.

We invaded Cuba in order to free the country from Spanish rule. Remember the Maine? That was the warship that blew up in Havana harbor and we accused the Spanish of sabotage but later historical evidence points to carelessness as the main cause.

How about Colombia? Theodore Roosevelt wanted to use the isthmus of Panama so as to build / finish the Panama canal. They reached a preliminary agreement with the Colombian government but the Colombian senate didn't approve the measure. Panama declared independence almost immediately and the US sent naval ships to support the uprising and the US recognized the Republic of Panama a few days later.
