The Federal Hotel on Suk, Soi 11 is where I always stay. It's a great place. Not a big lobby hotel, but it's got a grat little pool, perfect restaurant. and is vey nice. Check it out on the internet. About 1500, cheaper for 1st floor rooms.

Is that bar in the Town Lodge still kickin'? What was it called .. Toxic? I hit that place a couple of times in the past. The bar had a nice look to it and a handful of girls working the place. Laid back atmosphere and a couple of the girls were a lot of fun. A bit out of the way, though, at the end of the Soi.

By the way, Soi Cowboy isn't that big, so checking out all of the bars will take you all of 30 minutes. That's if you just stick your head in to get a view of the bars and their vibe, and maybe grab a beer in one or two of them. About as big as one block of bars in AC.

Just returned from 10 days in Bangkok and would like to give my offering. My buddy and I stayed at the Livingstone Lodge the entire time and I was very pleased. The room was very quit, clean and comfortable. Soi 33 is a great launching pad. I enjoyed The Office lounge directly across the street, live band that took requests. The gentlemen’s clubs and beer gardens that line Soi33 (Monet, Renoir, Christine’s, Livingstone) seem to cater to a more mature and successful crowd. Consequently it is more expensive. A night of drinking, playing pool, buying girl(s) drinks, barfine, and finally the girl I would drop 5,000 to 6,000 b. My last night in Bangkok I barfined a Livingstone girl whose name I do not recall but she is not difficult to spot. She is tall and looks like she may have a little African American in her. I highly recommend her, she helped me pack my luggage, fucked and sucked the hell out of me, and knowing I had to get up at 4:30 am and leave she made sure to wake up a little early for a farewell fuck. While I was eating a little breakfast in the outside lounge she wiped the sweat off me, help me with my luggage, and walk me to a cab. I can see how guys fall in love here, and the VIP treatment madeit worth the money, but only occasionally. My typical night in Bangkok was far different.

Start in Soi Cowboy after dinner, the girls actually get naked unlike most of Nana, and I found the bars to be raunchier. Plenty of entertaining pussy shows; darts, ping pong balls, smoking, candle wax, etc. Nice way to start your Bangkok experience, and if you see one you like you have ST onsite. Long Gun was probable my favorite, larger club, bigger selection, and some theatrics. I would then head to Nana around midnight. The best show in Nana is at Angel Witch. It is amazing, including a show with foam wiping that they beat you with if you sit at the stage. It is light S&M for those not really into the scene but enjoys a little sting across the back. The Carousal 3rd floor has a mechanical bull which was fun. The best looking girls IMO worked at the Rainbow, but the couple I took back offered mediocre service. Usually I would head to one of the bars outside or around the entrance of Nana around 1:30 and check out the girls starting to leave. The real rush is at 2 am and that’s when, like a shark you swim through the Nana Hotel parking lot looking for that special lady. The best pure sexual experience was had by a girl in that parking lot, and I only paid her 1000 b plus 300b for hotel. I rarely left the lot without picking up someone, but if I did not see anything I liked I would then go to the Spice Club, basement of the Ambassador Hotel. It is loud, smoky, crowded and packed with girls that are ready to party. I brought 2 girls home the 1st night I went their. None of the many girls I pickup at the discos of Bangkok ever asked for any money. I always stuck something in their pockets before leaving. Is this normal?

Ladyboys:

Guys lets face it, nobody is fooled unless they want to be fooled. It took me a couple of nights to be able to point them out with great accuracy. They have many traits westerners like; busty, that walk, and very statuesque, but those are the giveaways. The couple of ladyboys that I thought were woman were unable to fool me once they started talking. Furthermore when in doubt ask the girl/ boy. I don’t think they want to fool anyone. Most the bars in nana were either all girl or all ladyboy though I am certain that there are some post op ladyboys working girl bars. 2nd floor just to the left of the Mercury club I had a ladyboy who proudly showed me his tits and pussy, but I would bet my life was a ladyboy. \

Can't really agree that 30 mins is good enough.
There are a lot of bars in the Soi and many are still a complete mystery to me. I will probably never get to look in to most of them. Research first is a good idea.

Some bars are very variable in the quality of girls dancing at any point in time and the types of shows they are putting on.
Other bars are very much the same throughout (the boring ones).

Suzi Wong can be quite dull until you get a front row during the lesbian or oil shows, then its dynamite.

Long Gun has the very ugly shows (that others love) like pussy smoking, pussy firing darts, razor blades, etc.
Then they have some quite nice dance numbers that others might say were very tame. But in the end they have a variety.
The quality of the girls varies a lot from season to season.

But golden rule, try some bars recommended by others on this Forum. Do a search. Get there early before all the pretty girls are taken.
Determine if you are looking for the most beautiful girls, or the sleeziest bar possible, or what.

I don't find that looking in the door for a few moments works for all bars as the bar may be just in a brief pause moment before something happens.

But good bars usually have more patrons. So this can help.

I thought you were going to say it turned out to be a lady boy. Excess plastic surgery makes me suspicious.

The best place to change currency is one of the money changing booths on Sukhumvit there in 1 on soi 5 50 meters down on the right.

I have found the rates at these booths better than the banks in either Thailand or New Zealand.

Leave your money in the bank ATM's are everywhere (cirrus, star, etc)
Best rates are thru ATM as long as your bank is part of above system.
Take a little cash 200-300 in cash in case you loose your card (or its stolen)
Whatever you feel comfortable with! Use the safes in most room and don't trust anybody (lock it or loose it)

if you dont need your cash bring it home with you!
