&9733; Visa-free transit.
1. Visas are not required of aliens who hold air tickets to the final destination and have booked seats on international airliners flying directly through China, and will stay in a transit city for less than 24 hours without leaving the airport.
2. Visas are not required of passport holders of the following countries, who transit through Pudong Airport or Hongqiao Airport of Shanghai, provided they hold valid passports, visas for the onward countries, final destination tickets and have booked seats, and stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hours : Republic of Korea, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Austria, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland.
Point #1 states "without leaving the airport", that means youbetter be not caught for whatever reason out of the airport (seems to me a sort of allowance to circulate in the international transit area)
Point #2 seems an opening for citizens of certain countries allowing the stay in Shangai. In this case I step back from my statemetns. .

Chinese Freelancers
I regularly RTFF and I haven't seen hardly any reports of Chinese freelancers for awhile. Manhattan and Judy's are almost exclusively Thai, Phil and Viet these days.
Anyone know where these Chinese freelancers have gone? It seems that Xintiandi is the best bet. Anyone had any luck at Zapatas, Bar Rouge, etc recently?
Thanks,
Oak

Craigs List
SOS. Calling out all New Yorkers. I apologise in advance for using the wrong thread.
There must be something here who can help a fellow punter in need.
Having been spoilt by the choices of FKK's in Germany; Austria and Zurich.
The punting scene in London; HK; China; Singapore; Bangkok and Malaysia. I am really.
Disapponted with the choices on offer in the Big Apple.
It should be renamed the Big Tease!
Only been to a few lap dancing places in Manhattan (Rick's; Flash Dancers; Dolls etc.)
And the bloody online Escort agencies are charging a whopping $500-$600 per hour.
For locals and EE girls I can get in FKK for 100 euros.
Can anyone recommend any online places or hidden houses in NYC. Tried all the papers
And there's NOTHING!
Please PM me. I'm sure to return the favour in the near future
Have you tried it before? www.craigslist.org
I met a few ladies NSA (w/o strings) through its ads. Who knows you may get lucky.

Case 2 sounds like the so-called "Port visa". Available in theory but virtually impossible to arrange as no-one will know what you're talking about when you request it. I only know one person who has managed to enter by getting a "visa on arrival", and he had major connections through the HR department of a state-owned company. I think your chances of getting out of the airport without a valid visa are about zero. You might be able to get some company at a hotel in the transit area, if there is one. Sorry to be negative, but I wouldn't want you to spend your time under guard at a hotel before being shipped out on the next flight. I know of a person who had to do this, after the airline allowed him to board a flight into China with an expired visa.

The first case applies to all areas of China but the second case applies exclusively to Shanghai, thus only states Shanghai and nowhere else. Since I'm of Australian citizenship, I was under the impression that I could travel visa free for a limited number of hours while I wait for my connecting flight ONLY in Shanghai.
Correct me if I'm wrong though, thanks!
With no VISA you can forget about entering the country. My company has syring connection in the country and brings business to the country for many millions of $. Still we go through the hassle of a VISA. The quickest way for us is to use an agency in HK. I drop passport and photo to my hotel concierge at 1pm and get it back at 6pm with the visa on. Go imagine you handling this at the immigration office. Especially if you are in transit, with no reason to go to town. If that would be that easy tons of us would escape the procedure. The visa on arrival, available in some countries is a different story. Has still to be applied in advance by some local agency which applies to the immigration office. Then the name is in a list at the airport. Sorry to put down your hopes, but I am quite pessimistic on you entering PRC this way. Better chose another transit airport as I always do:BKK. In 13 hrs you can really do a lot there.
From the official site of the Chinese Embassy in the USA:
&9733; Visa-free entry for visitors: No visa is required for ordinary passport holders from Singapore, Brunei and Japan to visit China for up to 15 days for business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends or transit.

Been there, done that. Make sure you've all the paperwork to proof that you have a confirmed seat on the next flight (boarding pass even better) and a visa for the next stop if required.
Deduct 2 hours to get out of the airport and to Shanghai and 3 hours to get back and in the plane and you've 8 hours left. That are at least 2 good f#cks and 2 excellent meals.

There are similar websites for most of the major countries with information for your specific country.
Please note that the visa free access to China is ONLY for travelers IN TRANSIT and for citizens of Singapore, Brunei and Japan; all others are required to have a valid visa to exit PRC airports.

If I were the guy in transit I would not expect much but enjoy the transit area of hte airport and, if he has credentials, a business lounge!
I don't recall PVG has an hotel in the transit area, so. I suggest the guy not be too much hopeful
#2 is correct. I have used the transit visa twice in the past. And there are a few good hotels 5 or 10 minutes from the airport. You could take the maglev to longyang and transfer or just take subway line 2 to many of the hotels near the hotspots mentioned heresy

I found out that you can travel shanghai for up to 48 hours without a visa if you fall under their stated number of nationalities. Apparently, if you go to the immigration gate and show the officer your travelling documents to the forwarding country that is not the place you came from, you will be allowed to pass through. It's only for shanghai and it's only for the stated nationalities. I think this matter has been settled now! So I still need recommendations!
Thanks guys

Oak
For Chinese FL, I would go to Malones first, then Judy's next. Malones gets quite a few Chinese girls. Things get going later in the evening and there is a good band there that makes the waiting enjoyable.
If a girl is alone, she is a WG. Make eye contact and she will usually come over and start talking to you. Most speak a little English. Judy's would be my second stop. It's a 5 minute walk from Malone's. As other posters have said, Manhattan is mainly Philly's and Viets.
