"Old, hard-core, chain-smoking, whisky-drinking or just plain fat mujeres sitting around dreaming of days gone by when they were young, thin, and pretty."
I don't remember writing that report but I do remember the visual so I must have wrote it. haha
The P4P scene in Valencia was lame, but I found Maracay to be promising for P4P. There were a couple of decent and dirt cheap short-time places. I also dated a non-pro in Maracay for a while, so I will always have a special place for the city.
The beach pueblito of Chorini is about an hour north of Maracay, over the mountains and is a good, inexpensive place to take a chica; Very laid back though.

Ricker writes "The one thing I find about Caracas is the street crime ... after an attemted mugging on me a few weeks back...It seems like these "muggers" are a bit more organized than what I'm used to in Medellin for example. It seems these "bands of muchachos" scout for prey and pounce in a quick, concerted mugging on the unexpecting"
Would you mind elaborating on the circumstances of the attempted mugging? What time of day and what part of Caracas?
I take it there were multiple muggers?

Just to respond to Travelmen:
Le Club in the ING Bank building in La Castellana is a very nice, exclusive and private disco. If you can get an invite, go. Thursdays and Sundays are the hot nights. Sundays are informal, other days a jacket is required for men. Fridays and Saturdays are for old fogies like me.
Mazara is the in spot on Fridays. It is in the KPMG Bldg in Chacao on Francisco de Miranda Ave. Good disco for a mostly teen to early 20s crowd. My 17 yr old son goes there.
Best tip, go late, stay later!

Thanks Be There
I had no idea Le Club was invite only.
Sounds like Le Club is a very small in crowd any way so think I shall miss it.
Must give Loft and Vintage a try.
May try Dadi Latino also, but Rob says it is out of favour.
Didn't know Mazara was so young either.
I have this link which seems fairly good.

reinaldo ... elaborating on the attempted mugging:
i was walking towards my hotel in chacaito (hotel villa de este) at about 7pm ... i was about a half a block from the hotel ... there was a rep001tering of people still out and about on the street where i was walking.
i noticed a guy (looked like a teeneager) crossing the street towards me ... i heard another guy behind me ... and when i sped up my pace, so did the guy behind me ... i thought, uh-oh ...
i yelled loudly, several times, "quitate" (go away), as i ran towards the entrance of the hotel ... the security guys, whom i befriended on past trips, heard my yelling and came out also ...
the bad guys ran away.
i got a nice lecture from the security guys ... they said that after 7pm, stay off the streets in chacaito, especially a gringo walking solo.
they told me of the groups of banditos just waiting for easy prey like me ... to make a quick mugging.
one or two guys grab you from behind ... usually in a tight choke hold, and the other(s) grab your stuff ... then they run.
like i said before ... i really like caracas ... more and more as a matter of fact.
i've made lots of friends now and have several normal chicas i really like ... but i learned a good lesson ... i let my guard down and i got a good "frightening" ...
... that said, i'll be back in 3 days ... and i can't hardly wait!
take care.

Thanks Ricker for the details. On another subject does anyone have any info on price and availability of generic viagra or cialis in Caracas?

Just to add to the "attempted mugging" post. This is quite common and absolutely true. A friend of mine reported a nearly exact incident a couple of weeks ago about three blocks from where you mentioned and he reported that when they grabbed him in a choke hold from behind, around 9PM, he actually pissed in his pants! His main problem was explaining to his girl friend how he had developed urinary incontinence all of a sudden since few people in their right mind hang around Chacaito after dark. The moral of this story is: at night, be right and don't walk around Chacaito. The Villa del Este has had an excellent restaurant, is it still good?

Be There, I thought old fogeys like you go to tascas.
or perhaps Malabar in Las Mercedes??
p.s. I still think belle epoque might be the "coolest" nightspot in CCS.
ricker, I walked the streets around Chacaito at all hours of day and night without problems but the area can get dicey, especially after the commuter crowd thins out. btw. quitate??? you might want to try alejate (go away) quitate has too many other possibilities to best fit the situation.
I'm now convinced that the charm of Caracas lies in the fact that it does NOT appeal to "hordes of hard-core mongers".
no better way to ruin a place than become overrun by the likes of those.

generic versions of Viagra are widely available in all pharmacies.
If I remember correctly one local version called Duroval or something like that, ran around 12K bolivares for 4 pills of what is the active ingredient equivalent of 70-75 mg.. which means you'd be paying slightly over a buck a pill, and even if it were only for 2 pills, you're getting a bargain.

Yes, Catire, I do go to tascas and I do go to Malabar occasionally as one of the owners is an acquaintance of mine. Sadly the prices are way out of line with the food and its beautiful ambiance is best sticking to the liquid nutrition.
The bad news is that first you go to discos, then tascas , then to the drugstore to buy viagra which is freely sold here in the brand original and various generic permutations, then the old folks cafeteria and then to yr final resting place!
Enjoy it while you can.

Had tried a gal in Caracas a few months ago (see my earlier report). Since then I am getting e-mails from her saying she is having problems (financial) and could I please help her out. She writes in Spanish and I know no Spanish. Would like to write to her "you gave no FREE fuck so you get no free money." Any suggestions?
-
Travelman is pitching me to go back to Caracas, and he is succeeding! But then again with all the hotties down in Caracas it's not exactly a hard pitch. I'm pretty tempted, just telling him about it is getting me pumped up all over again!
I just might be joining him next month if work allows it. Maybe right after the elections if I can decide on which knucklehead to vote for.

I guess she's got you pegged as a sucker.
there are many ways to say what you want to say.
Here's my submission:
Se parece que no hay nada gratis en la vida. Ni tu cuca, entonces ni mi ayuda.
(looks like there's nothing free in life. Not your pussy, therefore, not my help).
or if you want to stay on the high road:
no recibiste mi ayuda financiera cuando estuvimos juntos?
(did't you get my financial help when we were together?)

I've been working on Spanish this year, but I'm still fairly new to it. When I get email from Spanish girls I go to google or altavista and use the tranlation tools there. It's probably not a perfect translation, but it is good for getting the general idea of the message.
When I send out messages, I use the same tools. Normally, I translate the message from English to Spanish, and then translate it back to English just to see if I'm making any sense. I keep a dictionary nearby. It seems to work okay for getting messages across.

I do the exact same thing. My chicas are writing long email answers to my questions or comments so they probably understand the translations even though it isn't perfect.
Remember to change usted to tú (you) and su to tu (your).
I wish I took Spanish instead of French in h.s.

Thats the major disappointment with latinas when they say they love you, give great sex and they keep in touch, you get an email with a request for money. Time to move on.
