this is only partially true. Try to follow the links with the phone numbers and the pictures. Also make sure that the pictures are for Romanian looking chicks and not something off the web. First of all, most (not all) women see a possible greencard in any American. Also, they think every American is very rich, so starting from these assumptions, it will be rather difficult in a short time to find their real thoughts.

It is relatively easy to pick up normal women in bars, but they usually go out with friends, so it will be hard to tell if they are single or not.

You don't want to go to Sovata. This is a spa for old people (60s), and you might only find their daughters or nieces. Also, the place is rather old and not much to do around there.

The seaside is a totally different matter. There are plenty of vacation cities along seaside: Mamaia (mostly families, but also clubs with pros), Neptun (richer young adults, cleaner place), Costinesti (only students, poorer place but lots and lots of fresh girls - this is where you want to be searching). On the beach is easier to pick up since 80% of the girls are topless, 10% naked, 10% too shy, also some clubs (very crowded open space disco clubs).

The drive from Vienna to Romania, through Budapest is very safe, and nice. Just get a very detailed map of Budapest, and try not to get lost in the city (it's not straight forward, and you need to pay attention). You get nice girls in Budapest as well, see forum.

As far as I know, driving through Hungary is OK. same to Romania. Be aware that there is a kind of tourist tax on cars. That is if you drive in some of the seaside resorts you get taxed at the entrance like .75$ EVERYTIME you drive your car in!

Don't even think of getting a visa for a Romanian, especially a girl. US embassy strongly discourages it, not by telling you but by putting a huge amount of red tape on Romanians. It may take up to 1 year to get a tourist visa, if ever. they are asked to provide copy of the bank statement of their account, proof they own a house, salary amount and writen proof of employment in Romania a.s.o.
And in the end is the interview, where the applicant has to personally answer certain questions to an US embassy employee. his/her report means 50% of the approval. but meanwhile all documents ("The File") including applicant passport are submited to the US embassy. so if the aplicant is denied the visa, he/she gets the passport home with a huge stamp stating that entrance to US was denied. US embassy will not offer any explanation. With this stamp on the passport is hardly likely that a Romanian will have a chance to be accepted in most of the major European countries.

My advice just go to a good place, look for a nice hotel (girls are in disco :) and enjoy your time.
