I think, it's a matter of taste.
Personally I don't like gogos. Sometimes I go to massage parlors (Addict, Snowwhite), sometimes I book an escort (Absolute Angels, Smooci, New BE, backpage), sometimes I get contact by social media (Facebook, Instagram, Tinder, WeChat), sometimes I chat up girls in malls (especially shop staff) and most of the times I pick up more or less (non-) professional girls in clubs (Mixx, Levels, Cé la vie).
There is no right or wrong as long as you are happy with it.

Weirdly, I have gotten zero results from the oft touted booty-call or hook up apps like Tinder and WeChat yet get tons of booty-call / hook up type results from the supposedly more "long term relationship" apps like ThaiCupid and ThaiFriendly that cater more to somewhat regular non direct P4P girls and women. I have never seen what the other guys' pics and profiles are like on these kinds of sites because I am only interested in meeting females so that's all I ever see. But I suspect it is quite a horror show over there on the male side of the pickin's. I tried WeChat briefly a few years back and it was over 2/3 ladyboys. I don't find it at all fun to send a dozen "are you a ladyboy?" messages and sit around waiting for the them to respond in order to maybe have 2 girls to choose from. Maybe it got better over time, but I'm not eager to try again.
As for location, even if they're well within 1km, it still involves setting up a meeting and waiting for them to show up, just to potentially have to shoo them away. Just wanted to introduce myself, long time viewer first time contributor. Have spent many times over the last 20 odd years in the LOS and around SEA.
