I'm planning on mongering for a couple of weeks in Thailand soon. This will be my first trip there. I need some advice from those who have gone from Bahrain.
Whats the best way to get my money there? I. e. Do I carry all the cash I will need with me (1 k BD+)? That doesn't seem practical or safe. I would prefer to avoid / reduce ATM fees.
Are Bahrain Dinars accepted at TT (yellow) exchanges (heard they have the best rates)? Or do I carry another currency like USD?
Is it more economical to convert in Bahrain or in Thailand?
Any other advice in general you can share with me? You can PM me to avoid going too off topic on the Bahrain thread. I am planning on going in October.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]If you are taking cash for sure you should convert your BD to USD in Bahrain, and then convert the USD to Thai baht in Thailand. At a Superrich or Bangkok Bank. If you have a CitiBank account you can visit one of the CitiBank ATMs (there are 2 or 3 in Bangkok, none anywhere else in the country as far as I know) and you won't be charged a fee for withdraws. Every other ATM charges a high fee for foreign withdraws- usually about six or seven dollars per withdraw so you'll want to take out large amounts.
Stayed in a hotel in juffair. Didn't have much time for full course of mongering however in one day stay. Most prospect were Thai which werent that amazing. I took what I could find. Average experience. 5/10.
Will revisit.
