I was going to fly directly into Cebu and stay for a week with a gf there. I'm planning on visiting "a family friend" for a few days in "Manila", but I'm actually going to fly directly to Clark for about 4-5 days. My questions are:

How often are flights coming into the airport in Cebu?

Here's my idea, I was going to fly back to Cebu a couple days early and go to a few mongering spots. my first trip to cebu this week after recommendations from wr and others.

Let's take a reality check here. I think people who have not been to the Phils don't appreciate quite how poor a country it is.

The GDP/head in Phils is about $3,500
compared with $35,000 - 45,000 in US /Western Europe/Oz

For comparison the figure for Eastern Europe is around $20,000 and Brazil is around $10,000, Thailand $8,000

Phils is at around the same level as India, Mongolia, Vietnam, Congo, Honduras

Cebu's airport is the second busiest in Philippines with flights arriving daily from South Korea, Japan, HK, Malaysia, etc. It is also a domestic hub for Cebu Pacific Airlines so there is always activity day and night.

As far as arrivals go, security keeps the crowd at bay similar to NAIA. Unless the girl knows the guards, people waiting for their loved ones must stand across the street behind a barrier fence.

Greg London mentioned earlier about how some people don't know how poor Philippines is. That's right! Some people don't know until they get to see Philippines in the flesh. Majority of us here monger in different countries to get some play. There are those who look down on PI because it's a poor country and that it's dirty.
