smoking
I searched all over and couldn't find a current report on whether you can or can't smoke around in Bangkok these days. Can you smoke in bars? Can you smoke in clubs?
Thanks guys.
You cannot smoke in any enclosed place, according to the Thai law.

2000B fine if you get caught
But I did see something new to me. It happened in Hua Hin, but I'm posting here to see where else this has been seen.
I was walking into a deadend soi at night when I saw a middle aged european woman walking out with her arm around the shoulder of a bar girl who looked to be about 30. Expression on bg's face was not too happy, but resigned to it. European didn't look like a lesbian to me, but so what? As they passed I realized the bg was wearing a sash of 100 baht notes clipped together with safety pins. WTF?
Turned after they passed and I realized there was a middle aged man with them when he joined up on the other side of the bg and put his arm around her too.
I'm thinking somebody is into humiliation.
That usually indicates that it was the girl's BIRTHDAY

Hahahaha ... someone had better tell the Go-go bar owners that one ... it's about time they staged some raids ...
Hi guys,
Somebody help me out I have read and re-read posts. I will be going to Thailand for the first time in November for 10 days, now do I split my time between Bangkok and Pattaya or do just stay in Bangkok or do I just go to Pattaya. Any help appreciated.
If it's your first trip then go to both so that you have experienced both. I would spend a bit less time in BKK than in Patts since Patts is cheaper, is next to the ocean and has a beach and is pretty much a mongering only place. I would say spend three nights in Bangkok, then seven nights in Pattaya.

Yes, many GoGos now have a smoking side and non smoking side. For non smokers, it's disgusting having a girl come to sit with you and she reeks of second hand smoke...

Tee Nawn (mattress)
I'm to be located part time in Sukhumwit a couple of km past On Nut BTS Station. Need to buy a good comfortable quality bed Queen mattress at reasonable price. Not cheap Thai hard mattresses! What are best places to look? Any local knowledge appreciated.

Smoking,
I'm a non-smoker, this law is a joke and so are the individuals that pass it, put this law in the same garbage can as the one that you can't use your cell phone while driving!
If you expect smoke to stay in one place forget it! If you expect no smoking in a go-go forget it! If you expect the rule to be enforce and get upset because it doesn't! My word of advice is " Stay home " you have a better chance being a Farang to getting fine for wearing a helment or not wearing a helment! than being fine for smoking!

A few of the better go-go's such as SuperBaby enforce a no smoking policy which I very much appreciate and I will patronize those bars.
It's nice to enjoy a few drinks while watching the pretty girls without cigarette smoke from some asshole sitting next to you drifting into your face and up your nose. If they want to smoke, fine, but they should go outside the bar.
If the cops can make money raiding bars for 'prostitution' and other violations, why can't they do the same for allowing smoking on the premises? A few thousand baht fine to the manager would solve the problem IMHO. They'd stop putting ashtrays out for customers in a hurry.

Anyone who complains about smoking in Bangkok is a total arse.
There are so much car and lorry and bus fumes around, all more deadly than 2nd hand smoke that you have to be plain dumb to complain about smoke from cigarettes.
I do not smoke but I do not care if people do, we are forced to breath in deadly fumes from vehicles all day long in Bangkok and yet the idiots who complain over smokers happily breath in the deadly fumes of all of Bangkok's traffic day and night.

Daddy07,
Unfortuately buddy those places are far and few these days especially in this town! Personally I don't like the smoke either but pretty much have given up since I got to get my fix from time to time at the go-go's! Just the other night I was at Heaven Above! (just don't see what so special about this place?) Farang next to me that smell like he hasn't taken a shower in days and another in front of me that smoke ( although the sign said no smoking ) between the two I enjoy the smoke better! For some reason I can tolerate the smoking but can't tolerate someone not taking a shower!
Maybe I'm getting old like you? can't beat the system but like you said it would be nice to see some tits without all that smoke that seem to drift everywhere. I don't mind if they smoke but smoke and now let it sit and burn while their tongues are hanging out! The want their cake and eat it too?
Again you are right! fine the idiots but doing the easy and right thing isn't what Thailand is all about! No matter how beautiful the girl, if they smoke they're out the door!

Can't speak for Patts but no one smokes in Bangkok Go-Gos, bars, clubs, discos etc. - there is very hefty fine for the owner and there's normally a place outside for smoking.
Anyone smokes is shown the door in a matter of seconds. I have seen guys (deliberately) wonder in with cigarette lit in their hand (try to sneak in) and girls chasing them to get them put off their cigarette or finish it outside....

Bangkok was always more civilized that Patts ... but Patts has always been more fun. :)

best condom
Anyone can recommend a good condom, ie., one that allows you to actually feel you are having sex? Needs to be larger than average as the ones I've tried squeeze so hard my dick goes numb.
I searched the forum with words like best/condom/sensitive but way to many reports come back that happen to have those key words but not about the subject.
I looked through the safe sex forum for 2010 but didn't find anything so I am doing a direct request.
I did find a 2009 report in the "General Reports" that recommended a couple but would like to get anyone else's suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

Three suggestions:
1) Durex Fetherlite (that is the proper spelling) are the most sheer.
2) At the bottom of the back side of every condom box, in the bottom right corner, is a number indicating the circumference. Buying something larger than 52 should be helpful.
3) Avoid Durex Performa, they have a gel designed to diminish sensation so as to increase performance time.
