You're not helping this person by engaging with him. He desperately needs a respite from this type of stimulation as well as some kind of intervention. This fear/rage autostimulation feels good ito him n the short run; however, the long term effects of elevated cortisol include weight gain around the waist and upper back, weight gain and rounding of the face, acne and muscle weakness. Of course, he sees these things happening to him, which engenders more rage, self loathing and fear. Interacting with him just exacerbates his condition.
