Average wage in Thailand for 2017 is about 13,500 baht (see tradingeconomics.com). Income inequality is high, so the median is substantially lower. I couldn't find the exact statistic, but it's safe to assume most Thais live on less than 12,000 baht per month. That's $350 per month, not quite peanuts like in the early 2000's, but in no way comparable to US wages.

Even solid, middle-class professionals still get paid 3-4 times less than their USA Or European counterparts. The number of Thais making 120 k baht per month or more is minuscule, I'd be surprised if it was more than 1%.

You are right, however, that America is screwing the working class and that real wages did not rise in a long time, but that's a different issue for a different forum.

This is 100% accurate in my dealings and observations. Does it benefit the trade to make the change? I have my doubts. The first bar would most certainly gain a first mover advantage. However over time if it was seen to be working others would follow removing that advantage.

You could argue that it would make go go's more popular with increased traffic from punters that normally stay away because they don't like the bar fine part of the deal.

Also I can see gains in the customer drinks segment as customers would presumably stay longer to get their lady drinks tab to where it covers the bar fine but would this offset the net loss from the lady drinks plus barfine price model?

While I would love to see the change I won't be holding my breath for it to become the norm anytime soon.

Look it varies by personality of the girl a lot and by what you negotiate, and how much she likes you. Grabbed the MRT (the escalators are easier than the BTS with luggage, but BTS is also right there) and rolled down to Sukhumvit, another 33 baht. If you arrive between 7 AM and 11 PM, I would recommend this as the best way to get there from DMK. Up the escalators, out the door and around the corner and you are in the hotel.

Stayed at South Sukhumvit Suites hotel, mainly for convenience. My plan was to just spend one night in Bangkok (needed to take care of something there) and then head down to Pattaya for a few days are&are. The hotel is right at ground zero, around the corner from Soi Cowboy. Girl friendly, they call when she leaves your room, etc. The usual. Rates are on the high side, but room is excellent, staff is great, internet is fast and reliable, so I was set. Had booked it on my phone from the airport just as I was coming to Bangkok earlier that day.

This trip, both in BKK when I returned (will post after I do my Pattaya reports) and also in Pattaya I took ladies aged 35-43, and every single one of them was fantastic. A typical Thursday or Friday night for me starts out in Patpong around 8:30 pm. I really like Kings Castle 1 & 2. At present, there are a lot of very pretty girls in these two bars making these two Go Go's very competitive IMHO with my favorite Nana and Cowboy Go Go's. KC Barfines are all over the place. I think there are 5 different barfine levels starting out at 500 baht and going up to 1800 baht for their top Agency girls. It is easy to tell the 500 baht barfine girls from the 1800 baht barfine girls, but not so easy to tell a 1400 baht barfiner from an 1800-baht barfiner. On the two consecutive nights that I last paid a visit, I barfined a different girl each night. They were both 1800 barfine girls. They both looked real good to me and as for their service; one girl was in my top 5/ the other girl was in my top 10 girls of my whole trip. Enough said. I went to Spasso later after I was finished with my honeys, but did not take any Spasso girl this last trip. So, I am looking forward to going back and spending more time in Kings Castle both 1 & 2 and checking out Spasso.

TIP: if you start out the evening at Patpong and find a girl you like, barfine her. Don't hold off because of what you think you might find in Spasso later. A sexy cute Thai bird in your hand is worth two or three in the bush.

Back to my typical night out in the neighborhood: if by 11 pm I have not found Miss Right in the several Patpong bars I like to frequent, King's Castle 1 & 2, Badabing, and Electric Blue; then it is time to head to Spasso. At 11 pm on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night Spasso is usually going strong with plenty of FL's and unfortunately an almost equal number of sausages. Yes, it is a sausage fest. I don't know where these guys come from, but they are always there. Additionally, it is roughly a 50/50 split between NE Asians and Westerner sausages and some of these guys are wearing fucking sportscoats. Unbelievable! Me, I am dressed up wearing a collared, short sleeve, polo shirt ie an informal golf shirt and fresh laundered jeans. That is me in dress up mode. LOL. In any case, despite the male customer turnout, there are plenty of girls to choose from and they ALL want to make your acquaintance. There is none of that Thermae bull crap going on here although these FL's are older than the Thermae crowd, but better dressed, better educated, and many holding their own nicely. I usually flirt with a couple of the prettier girls and if I like one I let the conversation eventually get around to what everybody came for. My night is usually all set after spending an hour in Spasso.

But once in a while when I can't find what I am looking for and it is around 1 am, then I feel it is time to head over to Mixx. On other nights, I may have just said goodbye to my Patpong girl and put her in a taxi, so I wonder over to Mixx to see what's up. I am usually not disappointed. For some reason this bar, or Discotheque, or whatever you want to call it attracts some very sexy girls both out of towners as well as the local FL talent. The bar opens at 9 pm, but the best time to come here is between 12:30 am to 1 am and the place keeps going strong until way past 3:30 am.

In summary:

Patpong - Kings Castle 1 & 2, Badabing, Electric Blue - 8:30 to 11 pm.
Spasso - 11 pm to 1 am.
Mixx - 1 am until 3:30am although the joint does not close its doors until at least 4 or 5am on weekends.
