I haven't bothered to chase down the survey, I only heard it mentioned briefly on the radio yesterday. Apparently, a majority of couples responded to the survey that the forced togetherness has improved their relationship, rather than worsened it. A majority also responded they had learned things about their partner.
My anecdotal evidence is something I began to notice back in April. I spend about 63 hours every week driving, more if there are backups due to construction, accidents, weather, or people simply being lousy drivers. I have an excellent point of view into the cars that pass me by.
I'll ask this question again. Where were you on all these issues last year? 10 years ago? Where will you be on them next year? Have you been calling your Congressmen telling them to normalize relations with Venezuela? Or Cuba? Have you been asking them to strengthen regulations which we need to protect our supply chain? Have you called for increased support of UN efforts to eradicate poverty, disease and hunger? Have you called for the US to open up our borders to more refugees?
You're pointing out all of these issues to support your position, without actually being in favor (I assume) of doing what's needed to address the issues.
You are basing marriages and divorces based on what you see in cars driving by. You do not even know if they are married. Google search "divorces during covid". Get real information based on court filings, comments from divorce lawyers, and the increase in Google searches for divorce lawyers. Count them. That is 3 strong sources. That is the example you use for using your personal common sense? Ouch you make my brain hurt.
Also, do a search "domestic violent during covid". Believe me they are related or do you want me to walk you through it. Take note of the "boredom" and "depression" I spoke of earlier.
I said that death by hunger and suicide will increase by nearly 3 times caused directly but mostly indirectly from the virus and then backed up my major points. Most are small points that added up will do the 1000 paper cut deaths. But I can not list all and hardly know but a small percentage. I never said I cared. People die in your town every day that you do not know. Did you go to any of their funerals? No. Why? Simple. You do not know them so you do not care.
Let's take the next step. You have met some of the guys on this board. If they passed away would you go to their funeral or donate to it? No. Why? Because you did not know them well enough to care enough. 90% of the people you know are acquaintances, not friends. I know the difference. You do not.
Friend Indicators:
You are going to meet several guys next time you visit Colombia. You friend is the one you make plans to meet before you leave versus after you gt there.
Friend is the guy that goes to your house and hangs out at times inside not outside like your neighbor.
Friend is the one you invite to Christmas dinner.
Oh please, if you compare Sweden's numbers to Peru, the Swedish policy is a success. If you compare it to South Korea, it was not.
The whole notion that you can't compare Sweden to Peru though based on demographics falls apart if you know three facts. The virus hits the elderly worse than they young. The median age in Sweden is 40. The median age in Peru is 27. So if anything, Peru should be having a lower death rate given that it has a younger population and implemented the Draconian measures you Democrats wanted, but the numbers do not bear that out.
Again, this is a mindless Democratic talking point when you dive into the numbers. Look at this graph comparing Covid to the 1918 pandemic: https://www.zerohedge.com/s3/files/inline-images/deaths%20covid%20vs%20spanish%20flu_1.jpg?itok=NJQ1-nGM.
By the way, the ratio of death not the number but the ratio of death demographically due to seasonal flu and the flu of 1918 is pretty similar. So yeah, Covid is way way worse for people over 85 than the flu and I would go as far to say it is worse for people over 60 but when you start talking about people in their 20's? FUCK NO! It is not even close.
The emphasis then should have been on people who are in their 20's and younger to isolate themselves from the elderly not shutting down schools and preventing young, healthy athletes from competing. That makes no sense at all unless you look at things from a political POV.
Why do you keep quoting me and talking about Sweden and Peru? I have not mentioned Sweden or Peru. I don't care about Sweden or Peru. Neither Sweden nor Peru is part of Flu Serve Net or the ILI Surveillance System. Neither reports to the CDC. So why do you bring up Sweden and Peru every time you quote me?
Instead, why don't you bring up the data I posted with the comparison to the flu. You keep bringing up the flu, I spoon feed the data to you and immediately you start babbling about Sweden and Peru. If I shift to Sweden and Peru will you go back to discussing the flu, or will you then shift to blaming Soros and Hillary on the rise in erectile dysfunction?
Focus. You wanted flu data. I gave you flu data. You ignore flu data, other than to bring up the flu from 100 years ago. Your cardiovascular system must be fucking incredible, because you run away from every fact like Hermes on his way to Olympus.
If the only thing you can talk about is Sweden and Peru, go find a blonde and get her to shove live Guinea pigs up your ass, but stop quoting me on it.
In fact, I have had four chicas from four different countries in their 20's tell me that they are absolutely terrified of getting corona and dying, and THAT fear is a fucking conspiracy, and that shit does not wash off easily,
Whose fault is it that people are stupid? What makes a person afraid of one thing and not afraid of another? I am on neither side of this dangerous covid, non-dangerous covid, democratic, republican stuff. Here in Thailand there have been just over 3,000 cases. There has not been a case in at least 50 days. 58 people died in all. There is a population of over 66 million. We wore/are wearing mask, everything had closed down, but is finally back open, had the curfew stuff. I guess it all worked since the stats ended up being so low here.
I only wear a mask now where it is required, such as going into a store. You still see people out riding around on motorbikes wearing masks. And as usual you see a shit ton of people riding around without helmets, even though the law states that you must wear one. You will even see them riding with the helmet in their hand, but not on their head.
Plenty of times I have run into chicks that I know out riding and they have on a mask and no helmet. I tell them to put on their fucking helmet. I ask how many people do you know that have died from covid. The answer is none. How many people do you know that have had covid. The answer is none. How many people you know have died from a motorbike accident. Well everybody knows plenty of those. Yet they are running around terrified of covid that they would not dare go in public without a mask, but carefree when it comes to wearing a helmet that would more than likely save their lives if they got into an accident. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Why do they have this acute fear of what is statistically extremely low, but contempt for what will surely take them out of the game?

There ya go, a conservative paper and a liberal one, both say the same thing. Covid has brought families together. See below. This pandemic is kid gloves compared to the big boys, the Bubonic Plagues of the Middle Ages and the Yellow Fever epidemics of the 1800's. Anyone beating their wife over this was an idiot to start with. We have to deal with idiots in this world, either put them behind bars, or strap on a tag on their toe and stick them in the ground. Such is life. Man up and accept the hand life has dealt you. You'll be getting enough pussy if you have a few bucks in your pocket. .

Sorry for the delay.
Do you know the meaning of "anecdotal evidence?" A quick example, if I notice more dead deer on, or next to the highway, that's anecdotal evidence that the local deer population is growing. I'm not submitting research to a peer-reviewed publication on the population growth of deer. I'm just noticing something I've seen and making an assumption.
Tell me, is there a fundamental difference between a couple which lives together and a couple which lives together and is also married? Obviously if they aren't married, no divorce lawyer is contacted. However, divorce statistics are only part of the picture. How many couples have gone from dating to living together? How many have become engaged? How many have sought out marriage counseling? Less I people are getting married at this time, because they want the social event. It doesn't mean they are all breaking up.
Back to divorces, All states require a waiting period to finalize a divorce, minimum of 14 days, up to 6 months for some. Considering the length of time required, you won't have accurate divorce statistics until at least October.
As for an increase in search frequency for divorce lawyers, that is no indication of actual number of divorced filed or granted. Just as an increase in searches for midget porn doesn't mean there's more midget porn.
You said starvation and suicide would increase by 3 times, but you have nothing to back that up. If you look at annual suicide rates, there's no incidence of a drastic increase in suicide rate. Traumatic events, the crash in 2008 cause a short surge in suicides. But when annualized, it becomes a minor increase. Suicide rates have already been increasing every year for some time, at least in the US. They will not triple this year. They will not double. They will not increase by even 25%.
Poverty and hunger will increase. They increase every year. This year they will increase a little more. No tripling. No doubling. No 25% increase. Just another reminder that every year we have a bigger problem that we're going to continue to ignore.
However, you've made all of that irrelevant to this discussion. You said you don't care. If you don't care, you can't use it as an argument to end the shutdown. Divorce, suicide, starvation isn't something you care about. You're not affected. That brings us back to you want to end the shutdown because you don't want things to be shutdown.
All the time you wasted talking about the economy, domestic violence, hunger, etc. Is just garbage, because none of these things are problems you care about. Your only concern is that the shutdown is personally inconveniencing you.
Take a number and wait in line. It's personally inconveniencing everyone.

Without a doubt. Covid19 has had an impact on most people, some positive and some negative. A few weeks ago, less than half a mile from where I live, a man shot and killed his wife and 21 year-old son. The report was he tried to kill another son, but that one escaped. The man claimed he was mentally disturbed from everyone being in his home all the time.

The fact that someone killed his wife and son and blamed it on Covid19 is just as relevant as the article by someone who wrote that Covid19 has brought his family closer together. Both are about those individuals' families, not a broader population.
I don't know what you are referring to about "Sweden experiment". I have never posted about only Sweden in any discussion. If you are talking about the group of countries I posted about that did not go into lockdown, there hasn't been any spike in any of those countries and three of the four are still below the world median in percentages of cases and deaths.

I have no idea if your quote is valid or not, but it's certainly out of context as the theme of the article is that Covid has brought families closer together. You haven't provided any evidence of an uptick in domestic violence, and in fact the lion's share of the anecdotal evidence is that it's gone the other way.
