Quite good, but expensive. (250 Euro/hour last year.) Not near Reeperbahn, but a short walk from the central station.

I have to admit it's been about 5-7 years since I was on the Reeperbahn but I can give you some thoughts on the area. Yes, there are many ripoffs but in terms of drinking, carousing, tease and flirting, the Reeperbahn has what you want. Just don't expect the best results for the final sex act(s) of the night. The SW on Davidstrasse are infamous for their games of being aggressive and promising a good time for not too much money but avoiding any real sex play when you get to the room. You will also encounter the classic up-sell ploys in the nearby Laufhausen.

On Grosse freiheit there is an "asian bar", it may even have that exact name, and they used to offer some cheap thrills for this activity. Again, it's been a few years but I remember the drinks as being "reasonably" overpriced but not excessively so. The small staff of hostesses were actually fun to interact with. Again, it's been a few years but most of the places along the Reeperbahn and Grosse Freiheit I experienced had girls asking you to buy them drinks for nothing in return except for the company. Depending on the night, there might be only one dancer and she'll sit with you during her break and ask for a drink. Hey, go for it and see what happens. Try them all out, that's what I did one drunken evening.

Over the last 15 years or so there seemed to be more Laufhausen along the Reeperbahn and the surrounding area. Besides the ones obvious from the street, there is one or a complex behind the NE corner where the Reeperbahn intersects with Grosse Freiheit. There were openings into courtyard-like areas that lead to stairs and the rooms on 2 or 3 levels.

I hope you'll remember enough after a night of drinking to report back on your experiences. Be careful: a German relative of mine has a cautionary tale of an American visiting the Reeperbahn, provoked into a fight and having to be bailed out of jail.
