Can anyone confirm if Sukhothai and Dusit Thani are girlfriendly and would allow to bring guest in without any extra charge?
That are nice hotels, well outside of my price bracket. ;) On http://www.booking.com The Dusit Thani has many comments from single travelers, so I doubt if they would object to a guest in your room. Of course you will have taken the precaution to have booked a room for 2 persons, otherwise they might be less cooperative.
Actually, I never had any problems with guests in any hotel in Thailand. In the more posh hotels, some discretion is advised: don't bring her in still wearing her pole-dancer's outfit.
If you have any doubts, just email the hotel and ask about their "joiners" policy.
Hi!
I'm goint to stay in Kantary House Hotel (14 SoibRamkamhaeng 42, Huamark, Bangkapi. 10240 BKK) and serviced apartements. It was booked by my office. Has anyone experiences with this hotel? Is it possible to take a girl on my room?
Hope someone can answer this question.
It's been a while (like 6 years ago) , but I stayed at their sister property down in Rayong and had no problem at all. I think they will ask that she leave her I'd at the front desk, but that's more for your protection anyway.

Book in advance or not?
Hello!
This is my first post in the Thailand threads of this forum. For the last 5 years I have been busy visiting German FKK / Saunaclubs. Without ISG I don't think I had visited Germany clubs. All the knowledge here ensured I got a good intruduction to pay-sex. But I have no experience of pay-sex outside Germany, so now I am a newbie again!
I have been to Thailand many times, diving and family holidays, but I have not had any experience of the Thai sex-scene (don't ask me how or why, because I don't know!)
After reading this forum up and down I have decided to start with Bangkok and Nana EP and massage parlors. They seems to be OK places as a start for a beginner. If not, please tell me!
Two hotels that I have read about and therefor are thinking about staying in are Nana Hotel or Pachara Suites.
One question that I have not found the answer for are: should I book hotel in Bangkok in advance or just show up. On my previous trips I have stayed in Khao San Road, and never booked anything in advance. What are the pros and cons?
Any advice prior my trip are appreciated.
Hello!
T
If the hotel doesn't require payment in advance at the booking but just a credit card guarantee, there is no con's.
I see seldom chances an hotel will give you better rates when checking in vs. Prior booking.
Prior booking usually is a result, for those who want to do so, of cross checking and comparing prices.

T
For me, I always book my first and last hotels in advance. If I'm not sure I will like it, I only book two nights.
If it's high season (December. March) , then definitely book in advance.

T
If you plan to go during "high" season (November to February) then definitely book in advance. Even if you didn't, I am sure you will find a room but it might involve walking with your luggage through town for a few hours until you find a suitable place. Guess what kind of price they will offer you when you arrive all sweaty, tired and dusty from trawling the many hotels on Sukhumvit road? Better to book in advance for that time of year.
I have said it before, I do not think Nana Hotel is a good choice. Other than its location within 50 m from NEP, it has nothing to favour it. Just do a search on booking.com and click the "sukhumvit" and / or "Asoke" buttons in the left hand column and you will have a few hundred hotels to choose from. Just make sure you book a room for two and you should have no problem bringing a guest with you.

Book a Hotel
If you plan to go during "high" season (November to February) then definitely book in advance. s
Who wants to get off a 'plane after a long flight and have the hassle of finding an hotel.
Grab a taxi ("Meter on" and "100 baht for tolls) and get settled in. Time enough on day 2/3 to look a cheaper (possibly) and better (possibly). You will then realise. Unless your hotel is [CodeWord140] awful, 'tis better to say put and not waste valuable f*ck*ng time moving

Soi 11

T
Presidential Palace, Grand President, Citadines, and plenty of smaller joints. Everything is there for you in or near Soi 11, Sukhumvit.
Two hotels that I have read about and therefore are thinking about staying in are Nana Hotel or Phachara Suites.
As others have noted, the Nana Hotel is not recommended. It's rather run down.
If being very close to the Nana Plaza is important to you, consider lodging at the Shama serviced apartments:
http://www.shama.com/sukhumvit/
The main entrance of this hotel is on Soi 2, not far from the Marriott. But you can walk out the back door onto Soi 4, very close to the entrance of the Nana Plaza.
The Phachara Suites is slightly farther from Nana Plaza, but it's an easy walk. If you are in a hurry it's a two minute tuk tuk ride. The Phachara Suites is also very close to the BTS skytrain (Nana station). I've stayed there and had no complaints.
Maj,
Suites is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in in BKK and actually the world.
There are mush better options around for a few dollars more.
Thanks for the advice.
I was just on my way to book that hotel. What options nearby for just a "few dollars more" do you recommend. I want to avoid the hassel of using tuk tuk or taxi to and from NEP.

Just adding extras comments for the original questioner.
Booking on internet is so easy, there is little point to not book a Hotel in advance, even in low season. Hotels can be filled up by tours. Can be just for one night if you are not sure you are going to like it. Okay I have just shown up to a Hotel in low season with a fixed price when there was little chance of no vacancy, but that is a rare exception. Going to look at Hotels to get a good price was something for 20 years ago before the internet took off. What can go wrong? I once stayed at Bangkok Palace which turned out to be a family Hotel not GF. Only ever made that mistake once.
Pick one of the recommended Hotels.
Spot on: the streets and sidewalks of BKK are not ideal to walk around with luggage in a pilgrimage from one hotel to the other to find the cheapest.
One wonders how all these Thai girls are able to walk these sidewalks in their fashionable shoes without breaking their legs and ankles. When I walk Sukhumvit road I wear tropical combat boots and many times that has saved me from a twisted ankle (or worse). People at home have no idea what dangers we suffer to get our entertainment. They think sex-tourists have it easy!
