Airbnb is another example. There are specific requirements required in Colombia for that type of rental to be legal, but most hosts aren't in compliance. If the problem comes up is Colombia going to spend millions trying to bring a bunch of executives to stand trial, or will they just fine the host? Take all the time you need.

Uber in Medellin has always insisted I ride in front. Do I get in the more comfortable seat with more legroom, or do I scream a shitload of irrelevancies?

One time when a girl picked me up at the airport, the police stopped us and spent 15 minutes questioning her about being an Uber driver, before finally letting us go.

There were several videos online of taxi drivers throwing rocks at Uber cars and drivers, beating up Uber drivers and other things which, as a passenger, I don't want to be the target of. Now that I know, if such a thing happens, I can simply jump out, show your post to the assailants and they'll apologize.
