Yes, bars will be closed on election day. Yes, it is safe. If blood is spilled during the inevitable confrontation that this is all building up to, it will be quick and in an area far from where virtually every Farang tourist or expat is located. So stop worrying.

Since someone is talking abt the elections, I thought I would ask some of you locals who live around it every day.

With all the dis-information, propaganda and false reporting i think its fair to say that nobody REALLY knows WTF is going to happen...or WTF really has happened. I think everyone should head over to Catherines, unwind, relax, and blow a sticky load on a pretty face :D

There is a major deadlock between TRT and their opponents and the election next month may not even happen due to boycott threats and election fraud accusations.

T's protestors and opponents are refusing to back down just as he is.

Fuck knows what'll happen, but I kind of suspect TRT will prevail, which I guess is a shame. Although his haters seem to be fast growing in numbers, and this is definitely his largest political hurdle to date.

Oh, and the protests have so far been peaceful. I strolled past a few days ago and there was a happy friendly vibe (but I was high so everything everywhere was good and mellow). I like that part of town, Thammasart and the markets by the river. No need for any tourists to worry, especially those in The Pink Zone, you won't notice any difference there even if the streets do flow with the blood of the non-believers.

One thing though, should the democrats eventually win the prize hopefully the moronic closing time laws will be changed. But I really don't know shit about all this.

I suspect actually that Taksin will eventually go. The forces against him are significant and made up of the most influential, educated and important people in the country. Their numbers grow by the day. Most labor unions are against him. Doctors, teachers, university professors and administrators, generals, and even some members of the Royal family all stand against him. He virtually has no support in the middle and upper classes and even most of the urban poor are against him, now. He only has the ignorant up-country farmers who know nothing and who are easily bought as well as his constituents in Chiang Mai. Unfortunately, their numbers are still large enough to keep him in power, however shakey and Illegitimate it will be, if he hangs on. But, I still think he will eventually exit and probably leave the country for his home in England.

The next few weeks should be quite interesting.

In talking with freelancer at Nep, Seems shes complaining about influx of very young TG's to the freelancer trade there at Nana and Suk! Any info from you locals?

I was not aware of the trade on Suhkumvit until last year. Must have been asleep for 4 years running to have missed the growing night life from Soi 3-23.

Does anyone have any info on how long and what started the allnighter atmosphere I enjoyed this past trip? I assume early bar closing times.

Dont here much about Soi Cowboy, I enjoy my time there very much and seem to be treated better there by Owners and Bar staff than I have ever been at NEP. IMHO.

soi cowboy

i have spent a little time checking out soi cowboy and would like to give you my review.

soi cowboy is s small area, at least compared to patpong. but as opposed to patpong soi cowboy is more about action than the tourist shows at patpong. i visited many of the clubs in soi cowboy and the drink prices are about the same everywhere. i did the heineken test and ordered a bottle of heineken in every club i went in; they range between 110 baht at dollhouse to 120 most everywhere else. there were a couple exceptions that charged 130 baht. the price isn’t bad considering that at the hotel i stayed at a heineken runs 220 +10% service +7% vat.

i arrived at soi cowboy at around 10:30 pm and walked around before going into any places. the soi itself is somewhat of a carnival. there are handlers with their elephants wandering around trying to sell you food to feed the elephant (20 baht for a small bag). there are lots of young children running around the area selling flowers there are girls out in front of most of the clubs trying to get you to come in, but not really hassling anyone. there are food sellers with a large variety of items for sale. and finally there are open air bars in front of some of the clubs.

most of the clubs are laid out the same. there is one, in some cases two, stages with barstools around it and then a little back there are padded bench seats. around the walls are more padded seats or in some cases couches. there will be girls on stage and more circulating around chatting with customers. you will probably have a girl come introduce herself to you and want to sit down. if you don’t fancy her tell her so and she will move on. don’t worry about insulting her, just be polite and tell her you are not interested and she won’t give you a problem. on the other hand it might be nice to talk to someone and you are not making a commitment for anything by letting her sit and talk to you. if you talk for a while you should buy her a drink, she will get part of the drink cost.

i decided to check out the dollhouse first so i wandered in and found a seat. immediately a person was there asking what i wanted to drink. she was back in a minute with my heineken and the bill (110 baht) which she left in a cup. there were about 10 girls dancing on the stage. most of them were wearing very sheer while bikini tops and little baby doll skirts that were barely see through and were pulled down to show the crack of their ass. many of the girls had their tops off, though only one had their bottoms off, occasionally a girls would lift their skirt up to show her pussy to everyone. i happened to glance up and there were two dancers on the second floor which could be seen if you were sitting in the right place, i was. she noticed my looking and started a stretching routine that gave me a look at everything nature gave her.

next i wondered over to the midnight club. service was very fast, heineken was 120 baht. the girls were topless with skimpy bottoms on but frankly i which they were wearing full length robes. the club was smaller than dollhouse and the girls were just not as good looking. they looked older and in many cases were not in good shape. i looked around a bit and didn’t really see anything that i considered attractive so i drank up and walked out. my only positive comment about midnight club is that i liked the music better than at just about any other club i went in.

next stop was cowboy 2. i went in and this was set up a little different in that there were also 3 rows of bench seats at the back of the club for a theater type seating. i ordered my heineken which cost 120 baht. the girls were topless and dancing around on stage. about average to the rest i had seen in dollhouse but there was one really beautiful one, taller than the rest with lighter colored hair. she moved really well on stage and seemed to be having a good time. before anyone asks i have no idea if she was a katoey but i am guessing not. i don’t think the clubs hire them and she looked very feminine to me. she was sitting with someone but got up and danced and looked really good doing it. i went back in a few nights later and the girls on stage were a little cuter than the first time. there were also a couple guys getting hot and heavy with two of the girls in a corner, deep kissing and putting their hands everywhere so i guess that was acceptable in the club.

ok, over to shebas next. heineken was 130 baht. the girls were topless with the exception of one petite girl who looked a little shy. while the rest were wearing only little bottoms with nothing underneath the one shy one had on a pair of bikini briefs as well. she was also the best looking of the ones i saw in the club. there is a second floor to the club where girls dance and it had a glass floor that you can see from the first floor, but no one was up there when i went in. the girls were ok, nothing special.

i walked into long gun and everyone on stage was completely naked, except for the boots they all wore. sat down at one of the stools around the stage and ordered my heineken for 120 baht. the girls in here were average with a couple good looking ones. decided i was tired so headed home but went in again the next night. got there at just past 11:00 pm and the girls were just exiting the stage. the place was packed and as i got a stool at the end of the stage two girls came on completely naked and started a show. this is the show i head about but thought they no longer did. the two started by doing the splits and working the poles so they hung upside down, they danced like this for a few minutes then grabbed some cigarettes and proceeded to smoke two each with their pussies. those cigarettes were glowing brightly as smoke came puffing out of their vagina. one got up and walked around a bit on stage while still puffing then pulled them both out and extinguished them. next they both grabbed bananas and proceeded to dance while peeling it. the broke off about a 3 to 4 inch sections and worked it with their hands until it was smooth and slick. then they lay on their backs, put the banana in their pussy and held it in with their hand. the crowd counted down from 5 then out shot the banana about 4 feet or so. they performed this trick a couple times then one girl headed off and a staff member brought out a fake birthday cake with about 20 lit candles. the girl on stage inserted a tube in her pussy and proceeded to blow them out in one, twos and once three at a time. pretty amazing but nothing compared to what was next. staff brought out three sets of balloons, about 8 or 9 in each set and attached them to the ceiling in 3 places. then the girl on stage took a chivas box and emptied out the contents, some kind of darts. using the tube she loaded in the darts one at a time and proceeded to fire them out popping all the balloons, which were about 10 to 15 feet away. then she grabbed her things and left.

after the “show” girl left two girls came on stage and started dancing to a number of songs. after the first song they were joined by a third girl. they kept doing the splits and showing their flexibility, which was nice given they were wearing g-strings. they danced for a number of songs, taking off more and more until they were just in g-strings. after that, the regular show girls got back on stage and resumed dancing. i would guess the show lasted about 30 minutes and i would recommend it to anyone. i saw a few guys in there with wives and/or girlfriends enjoying the show.

that’s my summary of soi cowboy. it is definitely wilder than patpong. i did wonder over to nana plaza and it was a lot like soi cowboy but the girls were more likely to be dressed more than at soi cowboy. i only made it into two go-go clubs before i spotted a girl dancing on stage with a great smile. i spent the next three nights with her and had a great time.
