These hotels are all outside the center. Slowly, they are being renovated but still a little rough. I went inside Izmailovo Delta last summer. Or was it Gamma? I forget which, but it was the one closest to discount center. Anyhow I went in looking for aBankomat and pleasantly surprised how well they had renovated the lobby. But rooms? No idea. I have heard these hotels are NOT what you might call guest friendly unless you are bring up one of THEIR girls. Otherwise you are required to go through the hassle. All of the Western hotel chains are pretty guest friendly although the security at the Sheraton and the Renaissance can get pissy from time to time.

IMHO you would better off to rent a serviced apartment nearer the center if you are on a budget.

I was there in October and was blown away with the whisky selection but the prices blew me away equally. Although, I must say, they had a few very rare whiskies that they priced quite reasonably so who knows?

As far as the girls went, I must be too much of a troll to be hit on. Unlike NF or HD, these girls were not "out there" broadcasting availability. But then, I suppose Luch is not trying be that sort of place. I have heard about a few guys that have taken freebies out of there, however, these are party girls looking for sponsorships or at very least to have gifts showered upon them. Too much attitude for my taste.

Alfa, Delta and Gamma are nearly fully renovated and offer a wide set of services you might not even imagine. All in the area, form cafes to restaurant a good sushi to casino or fitness, sauna, massage, pool, bowling, or whatever, even a real post office and some banks and change. '$/'$ bars and restaurants of course, some expensive some cheap.

As in every 'soviet' style hotel you can book different 'level' rooms some are ugly (un renovated since 1979 or so) , but most are clean and nice, no luxury, but even suites with PC, printers fridges, tea water etc. There are shops, pharmacies, (Viagra, Cialis etc) in the lobbies and surroundings. Mind that all you buy inside the hotel is a little bit more expensive than outside.

Then you have (Sat-Sun 09-17) the Vernissage, or the food and general marked behind it (where you get fabulous shashlik, grilled meat, mostly lamb.) one of the most fascinable parts of the 'real' Moscow.

Just 25 minutes metro from red Square on the blue line.

Girl Friendly?

If you follow the normal 'soviet' procedures ho problem.

I just take a double room for two and just register my girl friend when I arrive: No hassle, no problem and safe (of course she has to carry an I'd). When I arrive (directly from the airport) she is usually waithing me at the bar in the lobby.

Otherwise up to 11. 00 pm you can get guest up to your room, of course they will be registered at the small desk beside the lift block. At 11. 30 pm or so somebody will knack at your door and tell you your guest (s) has to go. Simply handle over a 1000 RUR note. (2. 000 if you are doing a threesome) and nobody will disturb you any more.

I have been there more than 20 times, with all types of girls, never had problems. Of course the security has own ones, mostly in Delta-Gamma. Ugly run down 30-40 whyear old asking for 100-1500 USD / hour (crazy!) , and the girls making lap dance at the Alpha Night Club usually are really (unbelievable) only doing lap. No sex!

Eating suggestion:

- At the 1 st floor of Alpha there is a cozy Caucasian restaurant, small, and hard to find, good food. Same at the lobby floor of the Delta Gamma, in the middle.

- If you buy a room without breakfast, choose the breakfast at 2nd floor Gamma / Delta biggest choice and you can eat all you want. Even a 10 egg omelet

- On the way to the Partizansakaya metro there is a Sushi bar, small one, good and fresh. (the one on the right side toward the station not the opposite one in an independent house!) same for the Russian fast food in front of the station.

- In the two storey small commercial centre beside the metro you can buy all you need for self catering.

- Avoid the Caviar (black one) , most in the shops is fake, the red one is ok. (some real can be found in the mall, but other Moscow markets are better.

Sexy suggestion:

- In the Gamma-Delta lobby they are selling condoms Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, on the Apoteka on the way to the metro also.

- In front of the Vega, behind the normal shops there is a Sex shop (INTIM in Russian) Cash only, has the most you need. Sexy clothes (made for pros) and incredible shoes can be brought in the small mall near the metro.

Just my two cents having been there so many times.

ATM delivering roubles or USD (some only) alsmost everywhere in the lobbies, in some big shops, in the metro station, in the small shopping mall, best change near the jewellery towards the station on the right side (avoid changing in the Lobby exchange)...

Telephone: use hotel ones, give a deposit and it will bee very cheab for local or mobile calls for the girls and to your homr, or go to a desk and rent a local one...

The hotel is perfect for Long Time sponsorettes you get on mamba or love... teens or young twenties never been anywhere... Took there a lot.... some are really excited to be in a big hotel... (non pro ones of course)...

Some of you may already have heard but Chesterfield's is BACK! For those who do not recognize the name, Chesterfield's is the name of the restaurant bar that eventually became Doug & Marty's Boarhouse and ow HotDog's. My understanding is that Doug (among others) has reopened Chesterfields at 19 Novy Arbat on the site of Angrara.

Judging from the promos, It seems that they are trying to re-create the days of old. It will be interesting to see if they can attract the pros and semi-pros with the program. Have not made it over yet but keen on checking it out. Leaving for Krasnoyarsk tomorrow evening so it will have to wait until I get back. Angara (which only closed at year end) was a VERY nice place. I was there last on December 12th. It's not remotely possible that the place would have deteriorated in such a short time.

Enormous bar, good choice of beer (Uk & US) and reasonable service.

Doug is behind the re-incarnation and I believe that its going to become a good place with the normal countdown Mondays, ladies nights etc. Just a few women last Friday but disturbing was a small table of senior pros who I hope are not there to fix the prices etc. From what I believe the idea is to keep the place much more open so it should not deteriorate to HotDogs standard.

I take the Metro for 50 cents and get in to the Red Square or anywhere in Moscow. So.

But I mist say that the crisis afforded Moscow too so you can find intesting cheap options at other areas but the centre is still crazy mostly over 300 € for a room. I prefert to put them on a nice blondinka. .

PS the most crazy is the Ritz, on the place of the former Intourist, from 2000 € for a normal room to 7.500 for a suite (I hope it's girlfiendly, may be you find directly a blondinka in the bed!)
