Medellin Reports

Thailand is a top punter destination. Many rave about the experience yet very very few speak Thai. Is there something special about Spanish (other than the fact it is easier for non native speakers to learn) that makes it so important to some? Maybe there is no expectation in Thailand or Eastern Europe of the enhanced experience described by the must speak Spanish faction?

As I've stated numerous times in the past, I believe language ability is an advantage rather than a non-negotiable must have. It is more of a must have for guys who are in long term relationships or marriages. I think it also enhances the fantasy life of those who see the scene as a version of the Pretty Woman plot in which providers as some version of Julia Roberts and they are a sort of Richard Gere. Fantasy is good as long as you see it as such.

At the end of the day as long as you enjoy your time anywhere you go that is all that matters. Hope you feel better.

Hey I am honest with myself. I would go after nothing but non pros. I know speaking the language is advantageous but the response was in the original post saying it makes it 5 times harder. I don't see the difficulty to that extent.

Fantasy is good as long as you see it as such.[/QUOTE]All due respect Knowledge, and I don't know how many times you have been to Thailand, but I have been there at least a dozen times, and the majority of the women speak English, much more so than the women in Colombia. They have to speak English and other languages to survive there because the clients are all foreigners. I never had any communication issues in Thailand with the women not speaking a word of Thai, versus the issues mongers in Colombia have who don't speak any Spanish. This is just a fact I know others who have been to Thailand can attest to.

Other than that I agree with your assessment, and can't wait for Thailand to open back up as I have so many good memories. And yes, I roll the same way there that I do in Medellin, pulling from the street.

I think most of us dig knowing the language for more than just the girls. No it won't ruin your trip but it's makes it a whole lot smoother. Ordering food, asking directions, expressing your displeasure whatever it may be. Many trips I've met cats who didn't speak Spanish, guess who gets to talk for them. I remember on trip in particular in the DR a dude I met from philly had a chick come down, I was the third wheel, hell it might has well been my date, I translated the whole time. I'm in Brazil and I wish I had doubled down on my studying Porto. Although I'm getting by and the people are super complimentary and tell me I speak well I know I know the effort is appreciated immensely. The bitches don't care they get paid regardless, although I know it makes a difference as I've asked escorts in Tijuana how they feel about having a client who doesn't speak Spanish and they say it makes the date rough. I know it's better to be the going that speaks Spanish than just the gringo.

Its really an amazing experience and the immensity of it. The amount of money flow through that place is incredible. And the service of the women is so girlfriend friendly

Some girls also speak Japanese and Chinese nowadays.

This trip was both a disaster and my best trip. That's the way things go sometimes.

The non-pro stuff didn't pan out at all. Other than the ride from the airport, which was quite enjoyable, a nice dinner with 2 girls and a long lunch with another, there was no return on that effort. It might have been different if I hadn't gotten sick, but probably not. One of the girls still has potential, but I'm not putting any effort there, other than to reply to messages.

San Peter Apartments made for a reasonable stay, when my original plan fell through. They're chica friendly and clean, with all the basics you need. Given a choice, get one of the top floor rooms, they're quieter.

Laureles is still a great place to get around, with excellent food choices practically on every street. I even went vegetarian a few days.

Uber and Didi seem to be a better bet than taxis. Seems like more taxis are trying to cheat customers now.

Either my perception has changed or the looks of girls at every venue seems to have gone up. Other than the La Isla girl, my experiences were all excellent.

What made the trip my best were all the guys I met and hung out with. I normally do my own thing, but this trip I spent part of most the days with other mongers. A few were guys I already knew, but most were new introductions. Thanks to everyone for making the most of it with me.

Yes I've been to Thailand. Same as in Eastern Europe, there are many more English speakers among providers than in Colombia. Nonetheless I've never known a punter to leave here with blueballs for lack of Spanish knowledge. I agree it's less likely they will come away with a life companion or even a meaningful relationship. So, anyone for whom that is a goal should pursue language study.

I know you didn't frequent El Centro much, but I noticed the opposite in El Centro, or at least nothing better than before.

A friend of mine who is there now, and has been staying in El Cento since the beginning of November told me when I met him that he thought the looks or quality of the girls had actually gone down in his opinion since before the Pandemic, he's a street rat and doesn't venture into the clubs or casa's. I think he was talking more about the quality of the Vennies than anything else.

Glad to hear you had a good trip, and now you get to sit on the sidelines like me for hopefully a short period of time playing Monday morning quarterback at times.
