Yeah! I thought it would be this type of source. There was a well-publicized case of a foreign professor who got caught in the initial crackdown some years ago was quickly sent packing, too bad he didn't get to go to John school. Also saw a recent story where a soldier who had been in country for only a week was fined a million won for patronizing a hooker/establishment.

You should at least verify your information before authoritatively posting it as the gospel.

This routine of penalties probably only applies to Koreans. Those of other national and ethnic origins should really be careful. Deportation and imprisonment have never been beyond the Korean government in cases of foreigners prosecuted for an offense (I specifically avoided saying "foreigners committing an offense," because there have been instances of wrongful prosecution in the past).

I've heard about the various red light district crackdowns in Seoul recently, but be advised that 588 (Chongyangni) is as strong as I've seen it in years (maybe all the girls from the closed districts going there?).

It's right on my way to Homeplus, so I walk through it once a week or so. Busiest I've seen it in months right now. I guess the local police didn't get the crackdown memo from the Seoul police chief, hehe (or maybe because they get freebies plus a cut of the profits?)!

The women are in their 30's and 40's but still some hotties and their performance in the sack is superior to the young working girls. It is best to find a night club near where you work or live so you will not end up traveling far to meet the woman for follow up dates.

Don't knock the barber shop poles. I have found some nice stuff in there. You just have to be specific and firm. Tell Ahjuma you want young and tight. (you have to speak hangul for this) and also be firm on the price. No more than 80K won. If you are not happy, then ask for your money back and leave. Any hints?[/QUOTE]I'm in the same boat. I usually visit Seoul 2-3 times a year. Always stay at the Grand Hyatt - so JJ's is right there. It's difficult in there, esp if you are solo, as the girls are always in groups of 2,3, or more. And yeah I don't even try fof the stunners (and there are many there on Fri/Sat nights). I've gotten a few dates out of there by setting my sights alittle lower.

And also had much better luck when Im there with some of the Korean guys i work with. They take delight in trying to get girls to come over and talk to me!! Hey, whatever works.

I have also had previous (although isolated) success from Korean Cupid (mostly Korean), Hi5 (mix - I met an Indonesian girl studying in Seoul thru Hi5) & Friendster (almost all Filipinas)...I'll be pulling in next week...but this time bringing my own - a Thai friend.

I have a question after patrolling this forum I cannot find the directions to that one club I once saw here. It was in Kangnam, one of those show bars as they call em. Is it stil open..I think the name was red soemthing. And as a Korean American with little korean skills do you think they will let me go in? Any answer would be appreictaed!!

WS, I come somehow along with the freebee hunt, however I am not practiced in 'booking Clubs'.

How about sharing more about booking clubs. Your preference clubs, the strategy, how to find it in the neighborhood-how do I Identify etc. There wasn't much yet on this in the forum. We may need some basic lesson, 'beginner course'.
