PAD demonstrators own Bangkok police
Yesterday, outside Bangkok's international airport, a Bangkok police checkpoint was overrun by a group of the PAD demonstrators. The police retreated, leaving behind their shields, and one policeman was even captured by PAD. Last night I watched the video of him behind forced into a vehicle. Of course, the military does not want to have the responibility of being a tool of the government, so they say they do not plan to take part in dispersion of the demonstators. My opinion is the army is more likely to take part in dispersion of the government. The army chief has made subtle suggestions that the PM resign.
It's 10 AM Sunday morning here in Bangkok, and I don't see this getting resolved for quite some time. The PM doesn't seem to want to resign. Don't know if that really would be the best outcome. Whatever, I can't wait any longer. I have just paid for a bus trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I get picked up at 4:30, and should arrive tomorrow night at 11PM. Hopefully Tuesday morning I can catch a flight to Singapore, then back to the U.S.
Yesterday I took a taxi out to U-tapao airport, and it was mayhem out there. Stayed for maybe 90 minutes and resolved nothing, got a return taxi.
This is from this mornings Bangpost.com website
"Almost 100,000 foreign tourists are still unable to return home, but the number of passengers stranded by the closure of Suvarnabhumi airport may double or triple if the situation is prolonged"
At this point would like to know if any one has any tips on the bus trip, or best way to get the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, or any other issue on immigration, money, food.
Hopefully next time, I would have planned this ahead of time instead of having it forced on me. I'd have preferred taking the storied Oriental Express train.

Is Airport Crisis having any affect on ST LT rates in BKK?
Being the cheap bastard that I am, I was just wondering if the airport crisis is having any affect on ST / LT rates in places like Soi Cowboy?
At Soi Cowboy after some negotiations I usually can get 1500 for ST and 2000 for LT. Bar Fine is 600, although the other night a place in Soi Cowboy was asking for 700 BF (which I declined).
Also, are the girls providing better service?
Any info would be helpful, thanks.
