Pound for pound, I find Lisbon less expensive than Madrid or Barcelona, especially given that Uber is an option. I like Portuguese food better than Spanish food, with the caveat that they often serve fish with the bones in it. So you need to remember to eat slowly and carefully, and to not take big bites. A person is almost never served a full fish with the bones still in it in the USA.

Over the course of a decade and a half, neither has EVER been true for me. 200 per day is what a not European, not a Portuguese can count on. And when your time matters ("I wish I had an extra 60 euros so I could see her on my last day!"), reliable counts more than stuff that may or may not apply.

So long as I am here, I have also found that in terms of fees, exchange rates and all that, using a cambio vs. a multibanco doesn't really start to matter until you reach over a thousand.
