Pattaya used to be full of sweet young girls because it was way poorer, the foreigners were fewer and information did not circle around so freely. It's not that Thailand is fully catching up with the West as far as standards of living are concerned, it's just that the drastic drastic differences that used to be are slowly going away. The so-called change in customer demographics in Pattaya is another manifestation of the same effect.
