Bangkok Hotels

I've been staying at Landmark for a while now. Not much to add to that except that the place has been great. Definitely girl friendly, though they do take the girl's I'd at the front desk. They call when she gets downstairs to make sure you're OK and not going "Wait, I had a laptop. And kidneys."

"Is everything OK there sir?"

"Yes thank you."

And then they hang up.

Anyway, Landmark has been a good little home but not at all cheap. It's nice and close to NEP, not so close to Cowboy, but that's fine. I recommend it for those who aren't looking for a budget option. Also, I recommend NOT getting the buffet breakfast. For a four star place, it's fucking terrible.

Both hotels represent good value, offer large suites, and are very gf. There is nothing wrong with the Park Plaza, but for the same money or less you could have a 1 BR suite at AP or AR. Location, Location, Location, Value, Value Value.

I know a lot of guys also like the Phachara Suites Sukhumvit. I have not stayed there, but you should consider this one too if you are fond of Nana.

Grand Millennium is very nice. I like the modern well appointed rooms a lot. Location is great! But I do not like the swimming pool. It is too small and in shade all day. If you are considering the high end 4* plus quality then also think about the Grande Centre Point T21. It is modern, has a great location, and fantastic pool. If you can afford the grand suite, that would be the way to go, otherwise the deluxe premium rooms are very good too.

BKK has no shortage of great places to stay. It is hard to go wrong.

Just a heads up. I became a member of Starwood points program when I stayed at Aloft last year. Now I get promo emails and I've been wanting to try Four Points by Sheraton on Soi 15. I got a rate of 2, 800 on what usually goes for 3, 500. So I booked it. Well, you know the rest. I know the current workaround to that is using your smartphone as a wi-fi hotspot. I don't have one so I guess I'll be spending some time in their lobby this week.

450bt a day for internet sucks. Check out the rewards program with Marriott and/or IHG (Intercontinental / Holiday Inn). As a member they give you a room upgrade if available upon check in and free internet. In addition, if you sign up for a Chase Marriott or Chase Intercontinental Visa card you will receive 50, 000 bonus points immediately and a free voucher night every year. In addition the cards have no fx transaction fee. I am spending my free voucher night at the Renaissance BKK this year plus I have booked 6 free nights at the Jakarta Marriott and 3 free nights at the Singapore Holiday Inn.

The Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok, Sukhumvit Thonglor is brand new. A 1 br suite is 2900bt and a 2 br suite 9000bt. Why not take 2 one bedroom suites adjacent to each other. It is much cheaper and you get more privacy or consider.

The Marriott Executive Apartments. Sukhumvit Park Soi 24 which is another upscale property. A 2 br suite is 8400bt. And another great choice is.

The Fraser Suites on Soi 11. A 2 Br connecting studio suite with 125 sqm is 7350bt.

I have stayed at both the Marriott Sukhumvit Park and the Fraser in 1 br suites. They were both great properties and afforded me the room to entertain my female guests in style. tough i've been staying every time for the last 5 visits to bangkok in nana i've not stayed at the jw. but its bang in the middle of the action just adjacent to soi 4 which the center of all action, so must be girl friendly as most hotels in nana are. also got a review from the net on this.

"jw marriott bangkok is a popular 5 star bar girl friendly hotel on sukhumvit road. it's located on soi 2 so it's right around the corner from nana entertainment plaza and plenty of thai hookers on soi 4.

when you approach thai bar girls and freelancers i would refrain from telling them that you're a guest at the jw marriott. why? because in bangkok, a room at the jw is 'paeng mak' or not cheap by thai standards. and the ladies know that. working girls know that marriotts are an upscale hotel name with upscale rates. so you can bet your house they'll ask for a lot of money for both short time and long time rates."

when you're there don't forget to visit "annies soapy massage that's right behind jw.

Hotel security can be very lax. I once heard of a customer, more than once murdering a girl and hiding the body under the bed, in same room and nothing discovered until he had checked out (Suk Soi 3 Hotel). Can't be sure the story was 100% true either. There was also the news about a couple who had drugs stashed in their luggage by someone unknown presumably linked to Hotel somehow. So be aware that really bad things are possible. Be careful about the Hotel selected and also the girls selected, would be the obvious advice.

I have never had any problems at all but very rarely take free lancers. Could be better to take free-lancers to a ST Hotel rather than anywhere where all your valuables are not locked up.
