Is the Artisan by Marriott friendly?
OK, last I knew China and Colombia had pretty stable relations, I'm pretty sure the Artisan by Marriot is open to Chinese visitors! LOL! Ok, you had it coming since this is your first post! Obviously you meant is the hotel chica friendly, but your post has been sitting out there with a bullseye on it! Welcome to the forum. Here's my advice to you.
1) Take the direct approach and contact the hotel via email and ask what their policy is regarding guests / visitors. Since it's a Marriot, you'll probably be able to email them directly.
2) Read the Forum. ! There might be a post about this property. But I do believe there is a post or section on here specifically dedicated to chica friendly hotels.
3) You can probably sneak the girl in after you get a good lay of the land. I. e. Know where elevators are vs. Front desk. Is there a lounge or seating in the lobby that you can interact beforehand so as to not to draw the immediate attention of the front desk. Word of caution though. Chica friendly hotels usually ask to see the girls passport and quasi register her for your protection. They may even hold her ID until she leaves for your protection, making a call to your room to make sure you're ok before letting her leave. Again, read the forum for posts regarding this process.
4) If the property isn't 100% chica friendly, they may charge a modest guest fee, which is still a deal considering the USD vs. The COP exchange rate. And lastly.
5) Keep your valuables (watch, money, passport, whatever) pretty well hidden and out of site. An innocent visit to the bathroom on your part, or that quick shower you feel you need to take. Can have your wallet be gone. And you might not realize it till the next morning. And by all means. Be friendly to any Chinese you may encounter in the hotel!

So I've been researching Medellin and signed up to colombiacupid a week or so ago as that's where I planned to go. Was suppose to go this weekend to Medellin however a lady I've been chatting to from Bogota told me last night that she'll be in Medellin today and go back to Bogota tomorrow. And that is what I like about them the most. I can not recall having one tell me they would do something and not do it. My first time going to Colombia was in 2005 to see a lawyer that I met on Latin American Cupid. She was from Cucuta and rode the bus 14 hours to Bogota before I arrived. She did not speak English and I did not speak Spanish. But I spoke Portuguese and had a pocket dictionary, which helped a lot with communication. (Hey. Got to start somewhere.) Her and her male cousin who lives in Bogota met me at the airport. At the end of my trip she did ask me to buy her a plane ticket home to which I refused. I did not know a damn thing about Colombia then, but knowing what I know now I would have done it. For one, I didn't know that the ticket was probably no more than US$70. Since then I have met plenty of other women at the airport for the first time and I am now close to fluent in Spanish. No horror stories and no taxi kidnappings or robberies so far.
Doing as I say and not as I do, I would not recommend you put all of your eggs into one basket. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. It looks like you already have Santa Fe as a back-up which is a damn good plan. There is nothing dangerous about it. Maybe to people who are not used to the inner city or being approached by an occasional alcoholic or drug addict, then it could appear that way. But I have never seen anything adverse happen there.

In my experience women are women the world over and if they like a person then age matters less. They are not superficial like most of the guys on this forum who swear they must have a woman 18-20 years old, maximum 50 kg, no stretch marks, and no kids. I am 43 years old. I have been going to Latin America starting with Brazil in 2001. I have been older than some of my Latinas and some have been older than me. Again, just like anywhere else in the world.

To answer your question I lied because in Latin culture from what I understand women tend to go with older men for two reasons, 1 for financial stability and most importantly because in their culture Latin men tend to get a younger wife after the first one of the same age later down the line. This goes across all classes of Latin women and wealth, it's just how they think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway I'm able to be online now because I have had to change my flight for tomorrow as got stopped for speeding and had to pay a ridiculous fine in the USA, I know if I had been in England they would have taken my license and given me some points so at least I'm in America but the fine was ridiculously huge, speeding and turning without signalling, and because I'm a foreign national I had to go to the police station to pay there and then so it couldn't wait till I come back. Live and learn, at least no accidents and no loss of license.
Back on topic I looked at the reports of distinction page and there are no reports In There for Bogota that date after 2013 so can someone point out to recent and decent reports, I started reading from page 21 from this thread but I'm not seeing any decent info. Could someone take the time to pm me with relevant and concise info on Bogota.
Also the friend I was suppose to meet today is actually a lawyer too and she sent me her flight info and to my surprise she has a doctorate, it will be nice to go to a country where it seems people are generally well educated as opposed to Dominican Republic.

Its also not really the age per se that they dig its the maturity and financial stability that an older man usually brings to the table. However if say a 24 yr old guy acts mature, dresses nice, has a stable career the Colombians will be all over that. What they hate is guys their age that have zero pesos in their pocket, have mullets for a haircut, etc. Bottom line-- be who you are.
