Invest a little bit in a reasonable quality compact camera with autofocus and autostab. Not wanting to push a particular brand, but I have had good results with various types of Panasonic compacts. Lightning-fast autofocus and when put in "intelligent auto" it takes all the worries out of exposure time and flash intensity. WC, I don't think anyone here has recently seen the tip of your tool, but considering all the "oral fixation" pictures you've posted I imagine it looks a bit wrinkled and crinkled much like a thumb would after spending two hours in a bath. Do you ever let the damn thing dry out?
